Duke Blue Devils (that rat faced scumbag)

Link

Coach K must not know much about the Columbus media...

It has to do, Krzyzewski thinks, with being a private school with a far-flung alumni base in a state where another program -- the one just down the road in Chapel Hill -- sucks up much of the available fan support and media attention. As an example, he cites the 2006 controversy in which a disputed flagrant-foul call against Florida State's Alexander Johnson in a game at Duke led to a renewal of the "Blue Devils get all the calls" argument.

"There was nobody, including our conference, who said, 'That's wrong,' " Krzyzewski said. "Basically, people were saying that our officials were cheating.

"If that was at Ohio State, the Ohio state press would ... fight that.

Coach K being envious of anything regarding the bball environment in C-bus is a welcome situation - even if it's an erroneous perception. He's aware of tOSU being a major factor on the national scene for the next several years.

all friggin night, the charge calls.......it's really unbelievable. I know nothing will come of it, because nothing ever does, but it's embarrassing. These officials should be ashamed and reprimanded.

If you can't leave your feet for a jump shot from 15 feet, something is wrong. Bottom line, and I'm not exagerating. FSU got called for a charge on a straight up jump shot. How is that even possible??

No other school gets that call but Duke. Bottom line.

Did not see it Bill, that's a blessing however, as it'd just p!@# me off more. You are right, I have never seen anything like the discrepency in calls that go Dukes way, not anywhere, in any sport, at any level. It is just pathetic that it goes on and on and on. I'd venture to guess that they win an extra 2-4 games a year because of the calls. The sadder thing is they even get the calls in the tournament with supposed neutral refs.

This is probably the main reason for my extreme dislike of them (okay hatred ) Coach K seems like a class act who does things the right way and I don't know if I've heard of any of his players getting in trouble. They are a great program, but let them prove it every game, don't give it to them, just disgusting.

I respect Duke for a lot of reasons. It's a classic program and the biggest name in college basketball. One positive thing I can say about Duke is they play the meanest, most aggressive, get in your shorts man-to-man defense of anyone in the country almost every single year. They also do it with a team that is almost always out-athleted every time they take the court. It's actually quite amazing.

That being said, Coach K scares the ever-loving shit out of every official on the court. He works them over before the tip, during the tip, after the tip, and probably after the game even when they've won by 25. He is relentless on officials, and he has the clout to do it. He especially has clout in the ACC. Coach K OWNS the ACC- his best friend is head of the officiating committee.

Come tournament time, Duke seems to get upset almost every year. They've gotten theirs, but for their reputation coming into every tournament, they get bounced prematurely quite a bit. It's because their reputation of being floppers and dirty carries over to neutral officials, whereas in the ACC, it goes unnoticed and unregulated.

I'm well aware of how bitter I come off in all this, but if you could see some of the stuff that has happened over the last 10 years, especially in the ACC, you'd be appalled. It's really that bad, and again, no exaggeration.

Classic Duke myth! Do you follow their recruiting rankings? Do you know how many McDonald's All-Americans line their bench year after year after year?

Duke has as much, if not more, talent than any program in the nation. Just because a disproportionate number of them are whiny, soccer-flopping white boys don't buy into this myth that they're not highly sought after, highly talented 5* recruits.
