What about Avenatti? He is a shyster, but at the same time, just because he is a shyster doesn't mean that in this particular instance his information is wrong. Two wrongs don't make a right, Avenatti and Duke can both be in the wrong, Avematti with his methods and Duke with their buying recruits.

If anything he's more likely to be right when it comes to talk about this issue.

Coach K wouldn't even have to be directly involved - plausible deniability - for it to happen. It's not like the old man is running around doing all of the recruiting leg work at this point.

Two money-making machines with a mutual interest working together to land someone like Zion isn't hard to believe.

Nobody consistently mines top talent out of the Chicago Public League for decades like Ratface has and does it above board. The CPL is the ultimate bottom of the barrel when it comes to having to pay off h.s. coaches, street agents, relatives etc. The NCAA has made a conscious decision to not look into how Duke does things for the same reason they made the same decision regarding JoePed; they always want to have their once chosen pure as the driven snow program "that does things the right way" to wave at the public and perpetuate the myth of the student-athlete.

Brilliant investigation strategy: ignore the person making the allegation and all the evidence they have entirely, and only get info from people who have an incentive to lie to protect themselves and/or Duke. That's how it's done!

I feel like the only way anything happens is if the IRS gets involved and starts unraveling these payment schemes. You can't give someone $100K+ without anybody paying taxes, and I doubt the government is getting their cut since those directly involved are claiming the payments are not being made.
