Maybe he is pissed off. He doesn't have to portray it in the media, though.

And if I was a coach, I'd probably react the same way when a guy with a note pad and a digital recorder asks a stupid question. They don't get questioned about overwhelmingly poor journalism.

I'm sorry, I should also edit my post to state that when I say we deserve better, I'm not saying that I want Fickell gone. I'm saying we deserve a more demanding attitude. I'd like that more demanding attitude to come from Fickell.

I wouldn't. I'd let the world know that my goal is to shut down EVERY freaking team we play, and that goes double for SCUM. I would let the emotion show loud and clear, without saying stupid things like "I'm 40, I'm a man!"

I understand. I enjoy those sorts of interviews. And I'd probably have a few myself, but if the results don't show up, the emotion was all for naught.

True but an inability to match wits with your conterpart on the other side of the field does and the stats tell the story on who wins the match up. When a previously inept offense explodes for big production on you it's hard to ignore. The fact that your offense bails you out is irrelevant. Luke was been outcoached more than once this year IMO. Still like the guy but his stats are underwhelming.

Yeah, but why are we heaping all the blame on the Co-Defensive coordinator Fickell and yet nothing is said about the Other Co-Defensive coordinator Withers? Does not the blame fall on both? It is easy to throw Fickell under the bus, but nobody is throwing Withers under the bus. Why does he get a pass? The DB's haven't exactly been playing lights out either. I'm not saying Fickell isn't part of the problem, but is he the entire problem?

Corrected since I was called out by the spelling police, who would rather call somone out on their spelling instead of discuss the poster's points. Well done.

I don't know who "Fickle" is, but he sure gets a lot of attention in a thread about Luke Fickell.

I want a DC who is accountable and not afraid of being asked and answering tough questions.

I guarantee Urban has a few choice DCs just in case this doesn't get better. My choice? Bud Foster

With Foster, the whole perception of OSU changes and we instantly become the Juggernaut everyone fears

Answering to the media certainly should not be the foremost of a DC's concerns, but any executive of a multimillion dollar and very public operation should have some sense of media savvy and public perception. And that's not even scratching the surface of whether or not this is his actual opinion of the matter.
