DT Luke Fickell (HC Wisconsin Badgers)

Your resume stacks up nicely against people on a message board. Especially when you don't have to prove [Mark May]. Congrats. I'm an astronaut race car driver.

The only resume you need compare yours to is Urban Meyer's. I'm guessing here, but I'll bet six lbs of moon rocks that it doesn't really compare.

I am guessing Urban is going to shitcan some folks on defense or demote them at the least. He was ready to do that last year. He has made it clear in press conferences this year that he is disappointed in the defensive coaching. Last year he promised to "get really involved" on the defensive side when Indiana hung 49 on our d. He has stated multiple times that our defense is under par. He has also made negative comments regarding the coaching on the defensive side of the ball. If you think Urban does not see and understand the coaching problems on that side of the ball better than you or I then I am not sure what to say. Time will tell.

Of course he fucking does. He gets paid to coach and he doesn't have to "teach" phys ed. So what if he keeps Fick? What if he makes zero changes?

That's actually funny. The risk would be that we are wrong and the coaches are the weak link and we are stuck with a sucky defense for a couple more years.
Well since we can do precisely jack shit about whom Urban employs, I see no reason to act like I'm risking anything.

Urban is making the best decisions he can to keep his multi-million $$$ dream-job. I watch every game and probably spend too much time on here, but if I or anyone here knows better than Urban, the defense is the least of tOSU's problems.

If Fick is kept as the DC and is still responsible for the Defensive game plan and play calling, you can expect piss poor defenses like we have displayed the past three years. You can expect to get beat by teams with lesser talent like MSU. You can expect our 4 and 5 star players to appear inept as Roby did and then go on to the NFL and become starters, yet while at OSU appeared they could not cover anyone. You can expect to try to outscore our opponents every weekend vs stopping anyone. You can expect teams like Illionois, California, North Western, and Indiana to hang 30+ points on us and throw for 300+ yards.

You can expect to be the butt end of jokes and to continue to be mocked by the rest of the college football world. You can expect to get beat by the SEC again and again. Then you can expect to start losing recruits on the defensive side of the ball because they do not want to be part of a crappy defense. That is what you can expect, same as we have had the past three years.

Did you have to do post-grad for that or do you jump right in?

I went 14-0 on NCAA 13, and I'm recruiting my gonads off. Dynasty.

Then we get to see below average Big 10 QB's like Stave, Gardner, and Rudock have their best game of the season against us for another year.
I think it is worse than one year. It is hard to build a good defense. You will have one year of total suck, one year with then new man/men transitioning, and then another year to peak towards the end, and that's assuming we get it right the first time, and what another bad year will do to the atmosphere around the team, players leaving, drop off in recruiting the top talent. I can actually see it leading to coach Meyer's image degrading and his eventual departure.

 So if you disagree with Urban, I should trust your opinion? Holy [Mark May].
It's not just my opinion. I have a feeling Urban and I are on the same page.

So you think the defensive side of the ball is just fine, coaching should remain in place, no changes should be made? You are happy with the defensice results from the past three years?

I totally agree with "trusting the coaches" but if people don't see the defense as a major problem then I'm not sure if you can really be helped or not. And having said that, it's also silly to think that urban doesn't know that. But I'm pretty sure he's a smart guy. Based off his experience he knows if it's A) the players, B) the coaches, or most likely C) a combination of the two. After weighing what he thinks the problem is, if it IS the coaches, then people SHOULD be let go/ demoted (in fickell's case since he's the only one in a position to be demoted). If he thinks it's the players then withers leaving may be all that he thinks needs to be done.
