The "feel good" story of the game:
HASKELL GARRETT RECORDS OHIO STATE'S FIRST SACK OF SEASON LESS THAN TWO MONTHS AFTER GETTING SHOT IN FACE
Not too long ago, it wasn't a foregone conclusion senior defensive tackle Haskell Garrett would ever play football again.
He was injured when shot in the face a half-mile away from Ohio State's campus early on Aug. 30. Garrett told Columbus Police officers that he saw a man and a woman arguing, he told the man to stop then got shot. First responders took him to the hospital, which released him a day later.
At the time, defensive coordinator Kerry Coombs had the same idea as most people: "I would have thought season over, career over."
Instead, Garrett didn't miss a single game. He came off the bench as a rotational defensive tackle early in Saturday's season opener against Nebraska and, incredibly, recorded the first sack of his team's season late in the second quarter.

According to the report, Garrett told police that he was walking toward Chittenden and Grant Avenue when he saw a man and a woman, both of which he did not know, “arguing and being aggressive.” He also said that, after telling the man to stop arguing with the woman, the man turned and fired a handgun, hitting Garrett in the face.
You have to wonder why nobody (i.e. possible witnesses that could ID the shooter) has come forward on the police investigation. I'm guessing that the woman Garrett helped is protecting her boyfriend/husband or she was involved in an illegal activity herself at the time (i.e like drug use/dealing), etc.
In addition, it is still not too late to call the police:
Police have not yet released any information on a suspect or potential motive. Anyone with any information on the shooting is asked to contact Columbus Police Felony assault Unit at 614-645-4141 or Central Ohio Crime Stoppers at 614-461-TIPS (8477).
