Donald Sterling and his comments

Slightly off topic with the thread but still relevant. We don't hear a lot of the [Mark May] that goes down because we're only told what they want us to hear. A perfect example of that is what Savage explains here is this piece regarding Beyonce's sister and the brutal murder in the east village a few days ago

"I don't care, yet here I am ranting about it on my radio show."

Never really understood that logic.

Another interesting take

Watched the whole video. This was...interesting in several ways.
1. He treated the interview like a court proceeding, which was bizarre.
2. He used the word "shrewd" several times to describe Sterling and equated wealth with intelligence, failing to mention that Sterling has actively employed discriminatory housing policies in the past.
3. It is a complete assumption that Magic Johnson is pulling the strings behind all of this. Without proof, this is a hell of an accusation and nears slander.
4. I'm not sure what he hoped Anderson Cooper would do...ask Sterling if he thought Johnson was behind this? There's a big difference between "asking the tough questions" and legitimizing unfounded speculation.

Dr Manning is well documented nut job but he doesn't add a different prospective to the situation. Like he pointed out, Sterling is a snake (well he didn't put it like that but he did point out that an attorney worth 2 billion is no dummy) and he was doing his best to turn the tables while trying to maintain the appearance of being contrite. I don't think anyone bought it, perhaps Cooper didn't need to ask any tough questions because the senile old bastard isn't as sharp as he thinks he is.
Also, he claims that he was deluded into thinking a woman of her age really cared about him. Ya think

Being intelligent doesn't automatically make you a nice guy

Well, I suppose that if thought that a woman 55 years younger than him liked him for something other than his duckets maybe he is an idiot
I don't know how the man made his money. Perhaps he worked hard for it. Or perhaps he inherited it. But regardless of how he got there, it's pretty clear that he is out of touch intelligent thought now. He may well have been a smart man, but he isn't anymore.

Dementia. He's an attorney too so at one time he had something going for him. You don't build a 2 billion dollar empire being an idiot. Like i said, he's got some severe personality disorder going. Most likely a narcissist and ocd, maybe a bit paranoid too.

The "fact is", this isn't the first go-round with Donald Sterling and race. The man is scum - he's a slum lord, he's clearly disconnected from his entire franchise, he's absolutely the worst owner in all of pro-sports and he's clearly a whore-mongering racist.

I don't want to hear any of that this isn't the first time stuff. If the NBA cared about his past actions they'd had done something about it then. They didn't seem to care about his past before this. NAACP giving him awards, NBA turning a blind eye. The man may be a dickhead, but what we was caught saying on audio tape illegally is really not that bad.

I am happy to see he is suing the league, bc what they did to him they certainly should not be able to do.
