DL Chris Carter, Jr. (Official Thread)

I have to say, our future OL prospects were not the first concern I had upon reading that update. How in the world does a young man in his position make that kind of decision, and then again and again? That is just sad and disturbing. Disappointing that it was apparently happening right under the school's nose too... :(
Yeah, this is a very disturbing story, regardless of Carter's affiliation to Ohio State.

He should be a goner in my opinion. Innocent until proven guilty, I know - but that doesn't cover football scholarships offers. If he were allowed on campus, not only would it be red meat for the media on the heels of tat-gate, it would be an affront the campus community, especially the young women who attend and work at OSU.

BayBuck, I noticed you used the word "decision" (singular). If the article is true, it's not an isolated incident it's a pattern of behavior.

He had to start at some point, but then you're right as he did it "again and again" (also my words) it does seem to have become a pattern.

Between the description of the evidence and his own alleged admission of the crimes, I'd think this would have to be truly a case of mistaken identity for Carter to end up playing football anywhere next year.

Especially since he is 18 the girl are under 18, this is very serious and he could be in jail for a significant amount of time.
Good point. This may not be a matter of needing to pull a scholarship, but simply the fact that he may not be able to finish his HS degree and get into Ohio State, among other things, due to whatever punishment may be dealt (assuming guilt).

Hope for the best for the victims, and even big Chris that he can straighten himself out down the road, just won't happen at OSU.

Strong, if hes guilty

Should be automatic if he's guilty, and he's admitted his guilt. This is a sexual felony. I don't think zero tolerance is unreasonable. Hell, it's the wise course of action. We're not talking about TS coldcocking some prep for dropping n-bombs during a basketball game.
