But what I was going to say is that it bothers me that this is still a sports story. Other than that this was happening in a sports facility, and by a sports person this has little to do with sports. This is a real-life news story. Sports stories should be about what happens on the field, or little drama stories about what will impact what happens on the field. Things like rape, molestings, murder - those should not be trivialized by people like ESPN wondering how this is going to affect recruiting. And comparing this to Jim Tressel's scandal (*cough* Bob Ryan *cough* Paul Finebaum) is further proof that some people aren't taking these crimes very seriously.
Agreed.
If someone caught a VP of mega corp X banging a 10 year old in the company shower, went and told the CFO who then told the CEO who ultimately did nothing about it the Monday morning perp walk out of that building for the main stream news cameras would look like a conga line.
My primary feelings on this continue to be a tremendous sadness for the victims. No bullshit this makes me want to cry when I think about it too long.
But now, as a parent and non pedo human being, my sadness is turning to absolute rage as details come to light regarding those who could have stopped this and chose not to.
Its getting almost impossible to attribute their inaction to anything other than a desire to protect their jobs and the reputation of Penn State football/Joe Paterno.
They let a known child molester continue to prey on little boys because of football. That's almost as sick as Sandusky himself.
