RE: Day Four: Official Jerry Sandusky Trial Thread

Men of all ages showering together in the locker room in and of itself is not creepy, abnormal or wrong.

It's the BEHAVIOR (i.e. bear hugging, horseplay, etc.) that makes it creepy, abnormal or wrong.
I have my answer. Unbelievable. This is why you don't [censored] your cousin, you mutants.

BTW, "NotoriousGOB" appears to be the only one with a brain/conscience among them. He's taking these excuse-making mutants to task, one-by-one.

Penn "our coaches regularly shower with underage boys in the locker room and we're okay with that" State

That seems to be the best-case-scenario lasting image for them. Disturbing to say the least- particularly the defense of even just that from their fans.

I had to stop reading after this one:

It absolutely is a hindsight thing. These kids weren't just random kids coming into the showers. As evidenced by the Lavar article, the players and coaches knew these kids and built a rapport with them. When Jerry brought them into the coaches locker room, it seemed like he was making these kids feel great about themselves by giving them an opportunity to hang out with Penn State coaches after the game.

...my blood is beginning to boil. WHAT. THE. FUCK.

Entry from the pennlive trial blog:

1:55 p.m.: Court is about done for the day. The defense says it'll be done by Wednesday, closings probably on Thursday. The jury would be sequestered during deliberations.
That does not leave a great deal of time for testimony from an expert and Sandusky himself as well as other witnesses.

UPDATE:

1:58 p.m.: Court is over for the day. Technical difficulties led to the early day, but the case is on track to go to the jury this week.

Subhuman, inbred, mutant, pigs.

Enough of these comments about the fanbase being subhuman. It's inappropriate to the extreme. I hang out with quite a few subhumans, and they would never stoop to the levels we are seeing here. Maybe you should revert to the term "[censored]ing animals".

Don't be a hater!

Here's the thing: the lines are beginning to blur for me. I can no longer tell if these people are disgusting monsters that only care about Sandusky getting off (no pun intended) to clear Dear Leader's name...or, is central Pennsylvania seriously so [censored]ing inbred and backwards that they honestly don't see a problem with any of this. I'm not entirely sure which makes me hate them more. At this point, I'd like to see the entire region napalmed. If you're against that idea, maybe at least administer doses of radiation sufficient enough to prevent reproduction.

Subhuman, inbred, mutant, pigs.
just give me a quick heads up beforehand.

Jerry Sandusky trial: Jury could have the case by the end of the week

After three short defense witnesses this afternoon, the trial of Jerry Sandusky is in recess until tomorrow morning. Technical difficulties led to the early recess, but the case is on track to go to the jury this week.

Judge John Cleland told jurors that he expects the defense to rest by noon Wednesday, after a full day Tuesday. Any rebuttal by prosecutors will wrap up by Wednesday afternoon, meaning closing arguments will tentatively happen Thursday morning.Cleland told the jurors that they will be sequestered to a hotel during deliberations, and won?t be able to use phones.
The three witnesses who testified briefly after the lunch break were Brent Pasquenelli, a local political campaign manager, who worked closely with Sandusky for a few years while helping The Second Mile raise money; a Bellefonte Area High School teacher who once worked at The Second Mile, and had a brief discussion with Sandusky about alleged Victim 4; and the woman who ran a golf program for kids for one semester in 1995, which Victim 4 attended.
The teacher testified that Sandusky gave him advice that has stuck with him forever -- that troubled kids may sometimes abandon help, but that mentors should never abandon them.

These absolutely were not random kids. They were carefully selected by a serial pedophile. These predators understand the psychology of children better than any of us. They study kids the way a robber cases a bank. They know who is likely to be "safe". Who has issues that open them to intimidation and manipulation. They test them and take things slowly - which is why we are seeing such different testimony from victims in terms of how far things went.

There was actually a poster on the PSU board asking the question "If JS came into contact with thousands of kids why did he only molest 8?" Arguing that this point supported his innocence. Well there is a very good reason why he only selected a few.

And there are more than 8. The rest don't see the benefit in coming forward. If my kid were a victim I would not encourage them to come forward at this point.

Of course, if somehow JS were to walk I might change my mind. Which would lead to an entirely new set of charges. This is the other shoe that fortunately hangs over this creeps head.

Yes and no.

Like you said, these kids were hand picked by Sandusky. He repeatedly went after young boys who had no adult male role model in their life. The reason for this, I suspect, is to avoid an angry father finding out what was going on and kicking his ass, but also so that he could take the abuse and tell the boys that is was his way of being "fatherly".

A true monster.

Do any of you recall any coaches sharing the showers with athletes?

In my case, I specifically recall that not only did my HS wrestling coaches wait until after the wrestlers were finished and leaving the locker room before they would take a shower but that they would keep the blinds on the coaches room/office closed while we were changing/showering.

In HS football the locker room/shower was separate from the meeting, training & coaches room. The coaches did not regularly come into the locker area at all after practice, let alone the showers.

Coaches, no. Principal, yes. In my sophomore year at high school, the principal made a habit of coming into the locker room to "congratulate the team". When you consider that my high school team had the distinction of not winning a game in the City League for nearly two years, it gets tough to determine what he was congratulating. Sometimes he positioned himself within sight of the showers. Other times, he seemed to be trying very hard to avoid any hint of seeing the players when they were undressed.

Was he just an old man that was a nice guy trying to motivate a team that was quite pathetic or a pervert? I thought he was the former and I don't think that he ever got within a yard of anyone without clothes on and certainly he never showered with the team. Other kids thought that he was pretty creepy and made lots of jokes about it.

When our fathers caught wind of the jokes, they had a quick chat with one of the coaches. The principal never entered the locker room again.
