Not going to listen to it, but the one comment is classic:
I hear NAMBLA is looking for a good anthem, send it their way.

cont'dOn the first day of jury selection in the child molestation trial of former Penn State coach Jerry Sandusky, ABC News has learned that Sandusky allegedly wrote "creepy" love letters to his victims, eight of whom are set to testify against him.
Intimate love letters allegedly written from Sandusky to the accuser, known as Victim 4, will be read into testimony after the trial begins on Monday, sources close to the case told ABC News. Victim 4, who is expected to be the first witness called to testify against Sandusky, will also show the gifts, including a set of golf clubs, that Sandusky allegedly gave him during their relationship.
Watch the revelations about Sandusky's alleged love letters on "World News With Diane Sawyer" tonight at 6:30 p.m.
The letters, which were allegedly written in Sandusky's own handwriting, are expected to corroborate the testimony of the man known as Victim 4, now 28 years old, who met the coach through Sandusky's charity, the Second Mile. The victim's attorney won't talk about the letter, but sources describe the letters as "creepy" and note that one was a story written in the third person.
Ben Andreozzi, the alleged victim's attorney, did say, "They have evidence to support his allegations, and there's other evidence that has not been released to the public yet that I think will really resonate with the jury."
The revelations come on the first day of jury selection in the trial in which Sandusky faces 52 counts of child molestation charges. In addition to Victim 4, seven other alleged victims are expected to testify against the former defensive coordinator during the three-week trial beginning Monday.

Nine of the first 16 panelists have a connection to Penn State.
That many of the jurors have ties to Penn State was almost unavoidable in Centre County, which is dominated by the university.
Judge John Cleland conceded that it might be hard for one particular juror to put aside his emotional ties to the school, but added, "I hope it's hard for everyone. If it's easy, we have the wrong jury."

I am really confused by Judge Cleland's quote. Don't you want jurors who can put aside emotional ties and do so rather easily? Isn't the goal to have a jury who can easily put aside emotional ties? If it is hard for everyone to put aside emotional ties, isn't that the wrong makeup of the jury?
Maybe I am reading his quote incorrectly, maybe I need more beer too.

Juror 11: A Penn State continuing education instructor of dance. Mother of a 6-year-old boy. Late 30s. When asked about her son by Sandusky's attorney Joe Amendola, she she recognizes kids don't always tell the truth. She also has ties to a witness -- Kelly Hastings, the superintendent of the Clinton County school district where alleged Victim One attended school, and where Sandusky was a volunteer football coach before he was accused.
Juror 11's husband works as a media information specialist at Penn State, and she said she has talked to him about this case.
Juror 3: A woman whose husband is a physician who worked with Mike McQueary's father, John McQueary, before he retired. Amendola asked the judge to strike her, but he didn't. The judge said that in a small town, that's bound to happen, and was reluctant to strike her. Sandusky intervened at that point, and said to his attorney, "I think she can be fair," after hearing that she had season tickets for many years to Penn State football games. The McQueary's are expected to be key witnesses in the case of Victim Two. In that case, Mike McQueary says he stumbled upon Sandusky sexually assaulting a young boy in the Penn State football locker room and reported it to two Penn State officials. Those officials were charged with lying about the incident and never reporting it to police. John McQueary is expected to support his son's testimony.
Justice will prevail when the parent of one of the victims goes nuts after a "not guilty" verdict is delivered and puts a bullet between Sandusky's eyes.if this goes the distance, i think, at best, we're looking at a hung jury. denying a change of venue was criminal. i'm not at all optimistic that justice will prevail. this is a disgusting mess from every angle.
