Disgraced Former Penn State DC Jerry Sandusky (convicted child molester)

Let me guess.....

  1. Fine, kick us out. We hate the Big Ten anyways. We should just leave now.
  2. Where was their outrage during Tattoo-gate or the Fab Five.

With a smattering of "JoePa did nothing wrong!!!" thrown in for good measure.

Actually, could we evacuate the 20 or so good people out of PA and vote the state off of the planet?

I'm trying to find the right word(s) to put into text after reading the lastest grand jury report and subsequent arrest of Sandusky. What I also find perplexing is that he was wearing Penn State gear.

Mind boggling.

"Are the cameras on? Okay...Hey everybody, look at me! I just got arrested because of new allegations. Two more boys I molested in my basement came forward. That's okay though because I'm going to wear my Penn State jacket to let you all know what I represent!!!"

From now until I'm put in my casket, pedophilia/child sex abuse and Penn State will ring synonymously in my mind.

I'm going to echo BKB and several other poster's thoughts on Sandusky. This guy clearly thinks he's done nothing wrong. Why else would he wear a Penn State jacket? Wouldn't it make sense for someone who is facing these serious accusations with mountains of evidence stacked against him that one would not want to draw even more attention to himself and the university where these disgusting acts "allegedly" took place? Not for this sicko.

Anybody else notice this or agree?

They want to leave? The shame of what happened will get worse if they run away from the BIG hoping people won't remember. Kudos to Marshcreek for actually speaking up against the Baboons with Internet.
And some there continue to try to put the Tattoo Gate scandal and Tressel in the same light. What a bunch of morons. They deserve what ever happens to their program/institution. I want Temple to put 70 on their asses next year.

This is marvelous!

I won't post the whole letter that was apparently mass emailed to the press, Big Ten universities and Penn State fans, but it's worth a read just to gauge the level of delusion, paranoia, persecution complex and narcissistic self-regard these people hold. Here are some highlights!

My favorite. Apparently, Penn State cured cancer while we were all distracted with the witch hunt for JoePa.

As an example, while the media jackals were camped outside Joe Paterno?s house, or setting up in downtown State College and giving students money to ?do something crazy on camera,? Penn State researchers, led by Dr. Craig Meyers, actually developed a cure for cancer.

Hell, I missed the part that the students only rioted because the press paid them to do so!

Here is our response??kick us out of this conference??please.

No, I mean pretty please. Do us all a favor and end our misery and association with this godforsaken organization.

The fact of the matter is from day one, Penn State has been treated by this conference as a second class citizen, especially in terms of athletics. Of course that applies to every institution in the B1G not named Michigan or Ohio State, but the others seem content to just roll over and take it.

Call me a heretic, but I simply can not work up the disdain, loathing and hatred for Michigan fans, students or alumni (be they the pathetic Walmart Wolverine or the arrogant prick from Connecticut who only ended up in AA because all the private schools he applied to shafted him) that I have for Penn State. They're an embarrassment to the Big Ten, to college football and to American higher education. May they rot in hell.

I'll gladly email it to Jim Delaney myself.

Good idea. I just forwarded it to Delaney.

While I don't support kicking Penn State out of the conference I do support their fans pressuring the school to try and leave voluntarily. Hopefully nobody will remind them until after they are gone that their media rights belong to the BTN for the next 25 years or so.

I'm not a psychologist, but I have stayed at the occasional Holiday Inn Express and can discern two patterns that infect that entire fanbase:

1) Is the deeply and sincerely held belief that the Big Ten has at best held Ped State back and at worst actively conspired to keep them down. If it weren't for a combination of B10 style football and corrupt referees Ped State would have won at least a half dozen national championships between 1993 and 2011. Ohio State, Michigan and Jim Delaney could not abide that, so they've done everything in their power to destroy Ped State.

They entered the Big Ten with the notion that they were going to absolutely dominate the conference. When that didn't happen--and rather than actually admitting that they weren't all that when they entered--they donned the tinfoil helmets.

2) Their smug sense of superiority is inextricably tied to JoePa's (false) image as the only uncorrupt coach in college football. They've lived, breathed and rubbed everybody's nose in it for thirty years. It was the very core of their identity as a fanbase and as a university. When JoePa was exposed as not only being corrupt but being corrupt on a level so dismal as to overshadow Barry Switzer, Clem Haskins and SMU combined, they simply can not process it. To, however, admit that and make an honest reassessment would be to admit the Potemkin facade of the moral superiority that they've been trumpeting for decades. In other words, they are still superior to all the rest of us college football fans; it's just that the damned media has conducted a witch hunt to take down JoePa's image and the rest of college football is piling on out of jealousy.

If you do that make sure to tag it with one those plaintive lead-ins --

Forward this to twelve of your best friends now, or Penn State football will die!!

(I don't know if this is entirely true, but I did check it out on Snopes.com, and they didn't report it as being false!)

My favorite part would be this, FWIW:
Now, let us make one thing clear, in no way, shape or form are we comparing the severity of what happened at Ohio State to what happened at Penn State.
Yeah, uhh, except for the six sentences of bile immediately above, no comparison made, at all.
