Disgraced Former Penn State DC Jerry Sandusky (convicted child molester)

Why bring that up. The connection with the Sandusky case makes a better story.

Well, if there's one thing this mess should teach us, it's that all the facts should come to light.

I repped him for his post - I wasn't aware of that, and it's a much more likely scenario.

my thoughts on McQueary ....

I think they cut him some slack because he was still a student at that time. Graduate Assistants are still students. He should have done more, but he was just a 20 seomthing year old student assistant. Plus, it looks bad to fire the whistleblower.

twenty-EIGHT.

As to whistleblowing, if McQueary did, he must have used a [censored]ing dog whistle.

Yeah but 28 Happy Valley years is like 6 people years.

Yikes, disagree. Even if he was a student say 18 (even though he was 28) he's still an adult. College students are adults and are held in the same light as a 60yr old, 35yr old, etc in the judicial system

I hope State Penn tries to throw him under the bus and he comes back with a list NCAA violations that Paterno has been covering up.

Because now we can jump to even more ridiculous conclusions! Gricar was investigating a heroin ring in Centre County. Joe Paterno has been the most powerful man in Centre County for 40 years. Clearly, Joe Paterno has been selling heroin.

While I agree or disagree with much of what has been said, this boils down to right and wrong. Let us assume that Coach McCreary was a young adult and reasonable smart and charged with educating student-athletes at PSU.

20 or not he is in a position of responsibility. Discovering something as heinous as this, demands that you take immediate action. I am appalled by the whole thing. I will give the legal system it's due and allow them to proceed, but I think that discovering this requires any man worth the air he breathes to stop the incident and immediately call the police.

Joe Pa, who was a hero of mine as a coach, still holds some worth as a knowledgeable football coach. But as a role model the looking glass is shattered by his minimal reply to the incident. While he is not guilty of the act, he is guilty by omission.

And it follows that that the local war lord who controls the heroin trade also controls the rest of the organized crime in the region including the underground sex trade.

ergo Joe Paterno was selling underage sex slaves to Lou Holtz.

Just my two cents. ESPN controls sports. They started the witch hunt for Joe's job the last couple days and weren't going to stop until they had it. The same happened with Tressel. ESPN is the big bad wolf that seems to often go unnoticed. They are the world wide leader in selective manipulative journalism. The sooner people realize this the sooner people with take their reporting with a grain of salt. By no means should Joe have been fired. If more comes to light and he had more knowledge or whatever then, yeah but as of what I know right now it's ridiculous.

I doubt that his disappearance had anything to do with the Sandusky case. At the time of his disappearance, he was getting ready to prosecute the largest heroin ring in U.S. history. An Assistant U.S. Attorney disappeared under similar circumstances in 2003 while investigating heroin suppliers from the same area.

Another odd sidebar is that the missing prosecutor's brother committed suicide under similar circumstances.

Keep the change.

Joe Paterno knew that he had a sex offender using his facilities and gave him continued access for at a very minimum nine years after knowing of the crimes.

By every means Joe Paterno had to be fired. There was absolutely no alternative. If the man had a single shred of integrity he would have stepped down personally at one of the many opportunities he was provided to do so.
