Come on Joe, can't you come up with something better than this for an excuse? This is and was YOUR locker room.

The PSU powers that be are all aligning towards blaming McQueary.

Wonder how he's going to react to that.

Familiarity.

He lives amongst them. He knows of which he speaketh....or something...

Seriously, PeeSU fans are just as bad as Ntre Ame fans, except they are inbred too which adds an entirely new level of idiocy to it.

With Paterno's statement you can see where he is going with this. Paterno will say that McQueary only told him that something "inappropriate" happened (as opposed to anal sex). This has the advantage of better aligning with the position of his AD and president and making him look like less of a spineless ass for do almost nothing about Sandusky.

His only problem is McQueary's father was with McQueary when they told Paterno and will also testify as to what Paterno was told.

I don't even know what to say regarding this whole thing other than What. The. Fuck. How much moral and ethical failure can an entire group of adults exhibit? I don't consider any of them to be less guilty than Sandisgusting himself. It's pretty clear they LET THIS GO ON. Who the fuck does that????

Based on this, I'm somewhat surprised that Sandusky got released on a fairly low amount of bail - $100,000.

The Grand Jury also noted that detectives from University Police and the State College Police Department eavesdropped on two conversations between Sandusky and Victim #6's mother, in which Sandusky admitted to showering with Victim #6 and other boys. When asked if he touched Victim #6's private parts, Sandusky allegedly said, "I don't know...maybe" and stated to Victim #6's mother, "I understand, I was wrong. I wish I could get forgiveness. I know I won't get it from you. I wish I were dead."

I think he should be kept in jail, and not allowed a belt or shoelaces, as a suicide risk.

Yes, the infamous yellow jumpsuit...that in and of itself would draw a smattering of appropriate smite.

This is the recap of McQueary's and JoePa's testimony regarding Victim 2 and the 2002 incident, per the Grand Jury document:

... the graduate assistant saw a naked boy, whose age he estimated to be ten years old. with his hands up against the wall, being subjected to anal intercourse by a naked Sandusky. The graduate assistant was shocked but noticed that both Victim 2 and Sandusky saw him. The graduate assistant left immediately, distraught.

The graduate assistant went to his office and called his father, reporting to him what he had seen. His father told the graduate assistant to leave the building and come to his house. The graduate assistant and his father decided that the graduate assistant had to promptly report what he had seen to Coach Joe Paterno ("Paterno"), head football coach of Penn State. The next morning, a Saturday, the graduate assistant telephoned Paterno and went to Paterno's home, where he reported what he had seen.

"Joseph V. Paterno testified to receiving the graduate assistant's report at his home on a Saturday morning. Paterno testified that the graduate assistant was very upset. Paterno called Tim Curley ("Curley"), Penn State Athletic Director and Paterno's immediate superior, to his home the very next day, a Sunday, and reported to him that the graduate assistant had seen Jerry Sandusky in the Lasch Building fondling or doing something of a sexual nature to a young boy.
This is Joe's statement today:

"As my grand jury testimony stated, I was informed in 2002 by an assistant coach that he had witnessed an incident in the shower of our locker room facility. It was obvious that the witness was distraught over what he saw, but he at no time related to me the very specific actions contained in the Grand Jury report. Regardless, it was clear that the witness saw something inappropriate involving Mr. Sandusky. As Coach Sandusky was retired from our coaching staff at that time, I referred the matter to university administrators.

"I understand that people are upset and angry, but let's be fair and let the legal process unfold. In the meantime I would ask all Penn Staters to continue to trust in what that name represents, continue to pursue their lives every day with high ideals and not let these events shake their beliefs nor who they are."
It seems like JoePa is trying to minimize how serious of an allegation, or how blatant an act of sexual abuse that McQueary reported to him.

JoePa and Spanier seem to both be lawyering up, trying to circle the wagons, adding in some PR spin to minimize the nastiness of the allegations and the crimes that apparently continued to occur after they didn't make sure in 2002 that Sandusky's alleged crime was reported to police.

It should cost Spanier his job, and it will cost JoePa his legacy, since he only had a few weeks left as a head coach anyway. But it should cost them, and everyone else involved, all of those things.
