Diet-Fitness-General Wellness Your Thoughts?

While I love to go to the gym,it is a respite from everything going on, there are points in life where you get too busy. You can do a number of these even when you travel. Check out the body weight exercises. You can do pullups, hindu push-ups and squats, dips, and an assortment of these types. Throw in a balance ball to change it up and increase the difficulty and you can do a complete workout. I am getting a bit older, well bit is interpretive, and I have found that doing these two or three times a week has made me stronger and somewhat more flexible. Throw in some cardio like swimming and/or eliptical (can't jog now-6 knee surgeries) and you have a pretty healthy workout. I am investigating yoga as well to calm the insanity lurking inside---LOL) I still love the gym to get away from the clan but this is good too. There is a site for the entire bodyweight series.
Damn, for some of those exercises you almost need to have the grace of a ballerina. It's going to take some time and practice just to coordinate my body to some of those moves.

Amazon has a ton of fitness products for ten bucks. possible price mistake, or just a huge sale.

make sure if you do wish to buy something , you go click on the Amazon ad on BP to get the referral. I think our in thread links are still not working for referrals

So we just realized that you're supposed to refrigerate almond flour

Anyone have any clue how long that stuff can sit on the counter safely? We've used it a few times this week and didn't get sick (or dead), but it's been sitting out for at least 3-4 weeks.

p.s. Was down 41 lbs (in 3-4 months?) as of a week ago, put on a few over a long road trip (tailgating, parties), but still doing well.

Does anyone have any experience with a torn pec? I haven't been powerlifting for awhile(more into scuplting). This past month I have moved into more of s trength regimen. I moved from 465 on flat bench to 475 then 485. When I was lowering the weight on 485 The outer part ofmy chest just completely went numb and I dropped the weight on my chest.I had no power to move the bar on my right side at all. Both spotters were struggling to get the weight off meand it only made it worse. My outter part of my right side (chest) is in pain. I am absolutely loaded on pain killers and whiskey right now.

Sorry to hear about your injury. I'm not a doctor by any means, but I know a torn pectoral is very painful, and is quite a lengthy healing process. I believe it's usually at minimum 3 months to get back to start using it again.

Correct me if I'm wrong but Moeller was out all last year with a torn pec

Are you working out as well or eating better?

Damn, that sucks. Go to the doctor, that all I can say.
On a brighter note, some 23 year old photography student from ASU approached me about doing some modeling for her. I've known her for a few months and never really thought of her as someone I'd try to bang. I hope she's just not trying to get me naked

It keeps forever. In fact, like bananas, drying it over a long time is better.

Put it in the sun. Leave it in the heat. Eats lots of it. Just you, not the family.

Random gym story:

I was at some gym in downtown Columbus with glass on all the walls to see in and out. It was a Gold's type place. My longtime roommate was a lifter; I was not. The first floor was all free weights.

I could nail my roommate on some things, mostly muscles that related to climbing or biking or skating or the things I did, I was never into lifting. Frankly, that means my bench was awful. It exercises muscles a typical person doesn't really use in real life. It is more of a "I want to look fit" type of thing.

Anyway, the sounds in the gym were the same. "Ugh, Hurah, CLANG."

Mine was different.

I benched some pathetic amount and it went, "Ugh, Hurah, PING." I swear everyone there stopped what they were doing to see who made the "ping."

Even worse, I could not for the life of me get the elliptical going. I didn't get it. Wow what a humiliating day.

so frustrated right now...

ok, for the past 3 months I was living in Charlotte, before I left I weighed probably just shy of 300 (if anyone remembered I used to be around 315)....I come home about a week before thanksgiving and I weighed 280, wooooo! And naturally since I didn't have a gym to come home to plus thanksgiving, I slowly started gaining some back, I got to about 286 or so by December 10 (graduation)...I also able to finally join the gym on the 11th...I've gone everyday except the 13th and 14th (hurt my ankle). Also played a little bit of tennis.

Now I know I don't always eat the best, but over the past week i really wanted to get back below 285 before I came up to Ohio for xmas, so I really started to make sure I didn't eat a lot, tried my best to not snack a lot in between meals etc. I looked at the scale today and I was 289, WTF....how in the world did I gain almost 4 lbs in about 2-3 days while also going to the gym, no way did I eat that bad/much.

I'm just so ugh, had to get this off my chest, I feel like I'm just wasting my money, I'm not losing, i'm still gaining

Eat right. That is the key. I would suggest joining the primal/paleo crowd. I have been on it almost one year and have never felt better.

Check your body fat not your weight. Granted you won't get the instant gratification before Xmas but that is more of a true indicator than a scale will ever be.
