Devin Gardner (official thread)

If you think Tressel is better than Meyer...hey that's up to you. All I know is Meyer beat Tressel badly...embarrassed him. Meyer also has as many UNC as Bowden and Paterno who are regarded as top 10 coaches all-time in FBS...at the ripe old age of 49. Meyer also has 2 undefeated seasons outside the UNC season. He is a better coach than Tressel...the head to head...undefeated seasons/NC's...Bowl record...winning %...winning % versus multiple rivals verifies this.
This hurts my head.

The head to head happened after a very emotional M*ch*g*n game without your biggest playmaker on the field. Teddy Ginn healthy is a whole different game.. The month of prep went out the window on the opening kickoff.

I'll give you the Ted Ginn part. The Michigan game....not so much. IMO you can't use a game that happened a month earlier as an excuse. Heck, even the Heisman tour that Troy Smith had to go on is a better excuse than the emotional Michigan game.

Hoke Record

19-7 his first two years with RR recruited talent, it's safe to say with the talent he has recruited Gardner and Hoke should do better than 19-7.
Hoke regressed from 11-2 to 8-5 last year. My math says that's a full 3-game regression after having a year to get his system set in place. Yeah, I'd thump my chest about that... :roll1:

Can I ask what happens in Braxton gets hurt? Yes, most college teams if their starting QB gets hurt are in a bit of trouble.
Did you watch our Purdue game? Evidently you didn't, because if you did you wouldn't have asked such a fucking stupid question...

He beat Purdue, yes I seen it. Wow

Looking at the OL 8-5 was about where I had them.

If I was sending my kid to play football and my choice was UM or JT, I would take JT hands down.

Wins are nice, but I just like the way JT conducted himself and the fact he never quit on his players.

JT = Respect to this Michigan fan. Always has, always will. Will see what happens at the first sign of adversity for UM.

If Meyer coaches anothe15-20 years he will go down as a top 5 coach all-time. Saban is 60 and has 4 NC's...IMO by the time Meyer is 60 he will have more.

Meyer and Saban are playing chess while guys like Hoke are trying to play checkers.

Well, first and foremost, fuck scum.

Second, as far as Gardner, I think the truth lies somewhere in the middle (As usual). I don't think he is a total stiff like some, but I also question that he's ready for the big-time spotlight/pressure that he's about to experience.

I don't really care too much about his stats last season, TSUN's stupid coordinator was still trying to feed Shoelaces the ball, despite it being apparent that he was usless on 70% of his touches.

He played acceptably versus that "juggernaut" defense in South Carolina, and having a 4-2 TD/INT ratio against tOSU and So. Carolina is nice.

His biggest issue, IMO, will be his lack of playmaking ability (Doesn't seem like he's going to make the defense pay on a blitz and break contain/do damage on the ground.) and lack of support especially at RB.

He's completely vanilla to me. Probably isn't going to cost them a bunch of games like Shoelaces, but I don't see him going out and winning games for them either. Just doesn't seem that dynamic.

Well if you cannot beat the logic, go after grammar on the internet.

Here is logic for you.

"Gardner played well when he started, he looked pretty good."

"Yes, but he did not play anyone so who cares, but did you see KG beat Purdue"

I suck at grammar, but math is in issue for you guys.

Saban is 61 10-31-1951

I cannot tell the future, you may be right, you may wrong. I remember telling someone Jack is the greatest golfer of all time. They said Tiger was, until he beats Jack's record he is not the best IMO. If you would have told me or him how the next few years would go for Tiger, I don't think either of us would have believed it.

Go ahead and talk about logic and then conflate the arguments of three other posters; you're a math guy, right? Here're some numbers for you, math guy:

26-21
