The insider article on ESPN concerning Kief's announcement tomorrow is very interesting. He implies he doesn't know Alabama's or Notre Dame's coaching staff that well, which would lead me to assume he doesn't go to either school. Seems to me that this is a UK-OSU battle, with the good guys coming up on top. I just don't see how an Ohio kid can pick UK over OSU for football.

Uh, you do realize that multiple ohio kids have chosen UK this past recruiting cycle? Its not so far fetched with this current coaching staff

I'm not aware of a single kid who chose UK over tOSU. I know they've recruited well,but there were no head to head battles.

Yes, I do realize stoops has been pulling Ohio kids, but not ones we " really" sought after. Snodgrass, if I'm not mistaken, was not even offered a scholarship until real late. And Darius West was not offered one at all. On the other hand, the staff has made Kief a priority and is pretty high up on their board. For clarification, I should have said, " I don't see an Ohio kid picking UK over Osu for football, when OSU makes that kid a priority".

Mostly correct but Snodgrass never had a true offer, nor did West. Kief would be the first guy we really lost that went to UK if it happens. No idea where he goes and UK is doing well, but they have not beat us head-to-head for anyone.

Unless I'm forgetting something, OSU hasn't ever lost a football recruiting battle to UK since I've been following recruiting. I don't think that is going to change with Derek Kief.

Based on everything I've read, I'm guessing he'll be a Buckeye.
