Derek Kief (GA Maryland Terrapins)

Since Kief said he was announcing tomorrow, 20 writers(including 8 Ohio State writers) on 247 sports are now predicting him to Alabama... and some random writer from a Duke site says he's going to UK.

I saw that too. And before I read the words out of Kief's mouth, that he " doesn't know the Alabama coaches all that well", I was convinced he was headed there too. He very well could be, but I just don't think a kid would pick a school where he didn't have a solid relationship with the coaching staff. Again, all speculation, nobody knows what Kief will do. But we will know by 8 pm tomorrow. Either way, we will be fine at WR for the foreseeable future. Would like to add a tall, athletic, outside receiver like him though. Hoping he stays at home

Losing a WR, even one from Ohio, is not something that concerns me under Meyer. There is a huge number in this class and Meyer's offense is highly attractive to many elite skill position players.

If we get Kief, excellent. If not, bring on the dozens of other elite WR prospects that we could land.

Missing on an offensive lineman we're in on? Now that is a different story...

I agree with the sentiment that losing an Ohio kid isn't the same as it was under the Tressel regime, not saying one method or the other is better so long as the wins keep coming.

That being said, losing Kief would hurt some. He's elite in size and really adds an element to this offense I would have love to seen (not giving up yet though, I'm holding out hope). Reminds me of '13 WR Derrick Griffin who went to Da U although I think Kief has a leg up on his footwork and routes but slight less bulk right now.
