Deion Sanders (HC Colorado)

I am 100% not sold on Coach Prime. He has done well at places by having way more talent than the other teams. Whether that was at the HS level or the college level. Lets see how this works now that he is playing with the big boys and the talent evens out and execution and scheme come into play. All that rah rah BS and being "real" and "cool" goes out the door when they start punching you in the face. And no other team is impressed with him or his players. Not to mention, his son may find out that real college defenses are a bit more difficult to play against and especially throw against. Real schemes with intricate zone defenses and much better execution of schemes.

I will agree with the fact that he does seem to believe in player accountability and family approach. And I do think his message is a good one. But there are a ton of coaches singing a similar song. And they are not winning either. Quite honestly in the few outtakes they show of him his style and such reminded me way more of the Last Chance U Community college coaching takes than what I have seen at the higher levels of college coaching. I have never seen Day or Dantonio or Tucker yelling at players in team meetings and discussing things like keeping the toilets clean.....just does not happen like that at the higher levels. I would suggest that if the HC is getting into that type of stuff things are off the rails and winning is no longer the focus.
So he is going to have to change his approach. Which maybe is not a big problem for him. But a roster of 100+ guys and a staff of over likely 30-40 when including training table and such is just too large to be spending time talking about folding towels. Not to mention the interviews and recruiting and alumni events and also the donors. It is a completely different world and so I am sure I am one of many who are curious to how this will work out.
I agree with most of your post. However, cleaning up after yourself and folding your laundry is discipline and similar to what Admiral Stavridis says in his famous U. Texas graduation speech.

He picked the appropriate league to join IMO. The PAC12 is starved for talented coaches. Had he taken the Auburn job (rumored) he would have been mauled.

7-9 wins a season in that league is very doable in two years

He did pick the right league, but idk how well he’ll do starting completely from scratch at such a low level, in a part of the country with not much HS football talent. This year will go a long way in continuing to get kids from the SE and CA to Boulder to play football instead of staying closer to home,or leaving for a team with more success in OSU or ND. I don’t know if they keep a kid like Winston Watkins if they have consecutive 3 to 4 win seasons. But best of luck to him, I think he’s fun and a needed new face in a sea of retread coaches who give coach speak for every interview. Don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t trade Day for anyone in CFB, but if I rooted for a team coming off of 1 win, I’d be all in on Coach Prime as my coach

Two WRs enter the portal the day after the Spring game. Makes me wonder if they don't think the best QB, Prime's son, is starting.

The hype machine is set to 11, and the crash will be glorious.
I could not agree more. This has crash and burn written all over it. Where I see the biggest issue is at QB. I have watched my fair share of FCS football and it is nothing like FBS. A superior athlete can dominate in that league without much execution. I am kind of beating a dead horse but all the Jimmys and Joes do not make up for crap execution and scheme. Once you get to the top the execution and scheme are what separates you from the pack. While the Pac10 is not the top level of college it is much better than where he came from.

I am curious to how the talking heads will treat this experiment. Because he is a huge question mark. But if nothing else he has shook up that fan base. Sounds like they are "buying in" in more ways than one.
