Defending yourself in your home

Woa, woa, woa...

I'm not saying anyone has to justify anything, I'm not saying it's unconstitutional... I'm not even saying NO ONE should have a gun in their home..

I'm saying the throwing around of numbers in support of the contention that accidental gun deaths are small compared to other things may miss the mark... that's all.

Jesus you people have itchy trigger fingers.... (ba dum cha)

I don't think anyone was jumping your shit for that one (it certainly wasn't my intention)....but I think it's a very important fact that tends to get lost in the shuffle.

You never see an article in the local newspaper asking "Why don't you want federal troops billeted in your house? Well? Explain to me why not?"

First of all, I'm not making fun of poor people. I'm making fun of handgun owners. Get it right.:wink2:

Second, my commentary relative to demographics was not relative to income or wealth; it has simply to do with the fact that people in my neighborhood (and yes, I know that my next-door neighbors are not handgun owners) are not likely to own handguns. I've lived in neighborhoods of similar (or even higher) income levels where I'd guess 80% plus of the residents owned handguns. Income is a poor predictor when it comes to gun ownership, I'm well aware.
I guarantee my neighbors would tell you I don't own a gun.
