Decanonized Mythologized Disgraced Ped State Monster Coach Joe Paterno (Zombie Icon)

This entire matter--Sandusky's behavior and Paterno's covering it up--is disgusting. How a commentator could begin to compare that to Jim Tressel is beyond me. Two wrongs do not make a right, but proportionality is not even an issue for discussion on this one.

Winningest coach? Not in my book.

I've wondered that. I noticed that the presentment, on page 7, only says that McQueary "reported to Paterno" what he had seen, and it doesn't use specific language there.

In the next parapragh it gives what looks like a paraphrasing of JoePa's testimony when talking about what JoePa told Curley and Schultz the next day.

...

- Was the language of McQueary's and Paterno's testimony about what was said on that Saturday morning (the day after the March, 2000 shower incident) left out of the presentment in order to protect JoePa?

...

Until we hear from Paterno or the investigators directly, I'm inclined to think the jury found Paterno was generally able to corroborate the timeline of events, but his specific language was not helpful.

Personally, I think Joe Pa 'checked out' sometime in either 2005 or 2006. I'm not sure exactly when the slow decline became a nose dive, but it's pretty evident to me from his remarks to the student-crowds in front of his house the past two nights that Paterno no longer has the faculties to grasp the severity of the crime or his role in it. He's been a rambling mess ever since he came back from the first leg injury.

Ever watch the Sopranos? I'm thinking of Tony's mother in the first two seasons. Either Joe Pa is senile or masterfully feigning it.

Maybe a lawyer here can clarify for me whether grand jury testimony from someone you suspect is senile would be included at all in a presentment? Would you allow him to continue to testify past the point it's evident he does not comprehend the gravity of the question and his requirement to provide a direct answer? Would you decline pursuing a perjury charge once that is evident?

Not the mother - but another NYer with a similar feigning it scam ...

Joe da Nose doing the same?

Ends badly for them both, either way.
