Decanonized Mythologized Disgraced Ped State Monster Coach Joe Paterno (Zombie Icon)

He says he is not concerned about the number of wins he has; but I don't believe that at all. I look for him to try to stick around at least 2 more years (toal of more 15 wins) to pass Eddie Robinson:

*1. John Gagliardi, Carroll College/St. John's University (1949-2009): 471-126-11
2. Eddie Robinson, Grambling State (1941-1997): 408-168-15
*3. Joe Paterno, Penn State (1966-2009): 394-129-3
4. Bobby Bowden, Samford/West Virginia/Florida State (1959-2009): 377-129-4
5. Amos Alonzo Stagg, Springfield College/Chicago/Pacific (1892-1946): 329-190-35
6. Paul W. "Bear" Bryant, Maryland/Kentucky/Texas A&M/Alabama (1945-1982): 323-85-17
7. Glenn Scobey "Pop" Warner, Georgia/Cornell/Carlisle/Pitt/Stanford/Temple (1895-1938): 318-106-32
8. Roy Kidd, Eastern Kentucky (1964-2002): 314-124-8
9. Forrest "Frosty" Westering, Parsons College/Lea College/Pacific Lutheran (1962-2003): 302-96-7
10 Harold R. "Tubby" Raymond, Delaware (1966-2001): 300-119-3

Kind of amazing that in all the years prior to the late 90s, he only had 3 ties.

Is JoePa's uncertain future hurting PSU's recruiting?

From Rivals:

After finishing 2010 with the top class in the Big Ten, it appears that the questions surrounding Joe Paterno have finally caught up to the Nittany Lions.
Penn State has only four commitments with one four-star and only two three-stars. But it's not about prospects landed, it's more about prospects missed.
Ben Koyack, Marquise Wright, Terrell Chestnut, Brandon Phelps, Kyshoen Jarrett and others all decided to head elsewhere and this has been a disastrous start for PSU.
It will get a share of good players and this will be a small class, but even the most diehard fan has to be disappointed so far.

I think Joe Pa's uncertain status in terms of recruiting has been hurting them to a certain extent for the past decade. They come around and compete well every couple years or so in the Big Ten but they aren't hanging around where they SHOULD be on a year in and year out basis.

What's hurting Penn State recruiting? You say Paterno, I say campus policies.

Paterno plans to return in 2011

Joe Paterno earned his 400th career win on Nov. 6 against Northwestern and currently sits at 401 victories.

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) -- Joe Paterno says he plans to return as Penn State coach next season, putting an end to any speculation about retirement.
The Nittany Lions meet No. 11 Michigan State in the regular-season finale on Saturday, leading some fans and writers to wonder if this would be the 83-year-old coach's last appearance at Beaver Stadium.
JoePa said his team has struggled at times this year because of youth and injuries, but that the Nittany Lions have a chance to be good next year.
