Decanonized Mythologized Disgraced Ped State Monster Coach Joe Paterno (Zombie Icon)

There are rumor threads on each of the PSU boards. Defensive strategies are being mapped out. Troops are being deployed. The Message Board Militia has issued a call to arms.

But the BOT has the upper hand. At the critical moment when the crane is to be put into place, with the simplest of distractions, they will get everyone to look the other way. THAT is the Penn State Way.

If they do something so stupid like that after today, then I'm with this sentiment....

Will some Penn State fan chain themselves to that statue by midnight tonight (to prevent the removal)?

His name on the library will be looked at next.

A statue. The folks at Ped State that think the statue should stay may as well make a statue of this:

Just to round out the WWII Celeb club ice cream series, Musolini's Maraschino Mash up, Stalin's Strawberry Massacre, and Sergeant Schultz's Stalag Saur Schnitzel all went out after an initial blitzkrieg of sales.

Don't forget Klink's Kashew and Karamel Krunch...

There used to be a beautiful train station in Columbus on High Street in the Short North. One Friday afternoon before a three day weekend it was removed in an unannounced action by the city. The only remaining remnant is the arch that was moved to the Arena District.

If I am reading those two reports correctly, the one stating the statue will come down says only that "Penn State" has decided to take it down.

The "contradicting" report says that the board has not taken a vote, but also that it is up to the Administration - not the board. A "spokesman for the school" said they were "not aware" of any decision. That is not quite the same as saying there has been no decision and gives Mr. Pabst the out of saying "nobody told me" (it has been done).

PSU does not want an announcement prior to removal. If there is any pre-notice it could be very, very ugly.

If I am Erickson I hold a meeting at 3:00 AM Sunday next to the truck and "decide" then. From there it goes to storage - not the museum or any sort of public display.

The next time you see the Paterno statue the that finger will be sticking up from the sand in Planet Of The Apes IX.
