From the article, here is the quote I just can't get past, and I've seen it many times already:

"You can't let people stampede you into making a rash decision," a trustee said last week. "The statue represents the good that Joe did. It doesn't represent the bad that he did."

Oh yeah, OK that makes perfect sense. Hey and when I head to Berlin and Warsaw, I'll be sure to check out those "Road builder of the Year" statues they have of Hitler, because, well, you know, they represent the good he did, not the bad, and no one knew tactical infrastructure like that motherfucker...

Right up there with John Wilkes Booth having one small lapse in judgement cost him a posthumous Academy Award.

Kill one president and people forget all the great acting you did before that.

It just isn't fair.

Will people forget that Paterno developed a car for the masses? That he started the tradition of the Olympic Torch relay? That he created the first freeways?
