It would be a cold hell in Hell that I'd do that shit, plus they probably get paid alot doing it. Not enuff for me though.

Getting paid enough to live happily for working only 6 weeks a year would be nice, but I couldn't do it either. If a guy has a big sack and no education it would be a good career.

Love the show. Bought season 1 on DVD and have yet to watch them. Started to watch the show halfway through season 2. I did see another show like it on Discovery which highlights Lobster fishermen. I saw the last 10 minutes of it and I am curious how it compares to the Deadliest Catch....

the lobster show is pretty good, but it doesn't compare to the crabs

Did anyone else on Time Warner lose the last 10 minutes of the show last night? My Discovery Channel went blank at 9:50 and picked up the next show at 10:00. Time Warner sucks!

I have Warner and did not lose that much, luckily. I DVR'd it and it must have ran over some, because it was still rolling credits and they were still showing the guy getting pulled into the Coast Guard chopper when it stopped. They replay the show, so you might want to check the lineup on Discovery this week and see if you can catch it again. I think they replay the last week's episode before the new one each week too, at least that is what they used to do.

There are several episodes listed for Discovery on Thursday night, at 8, 9, and 10 pm Eastern. I don't know which ones these will be, though.

If I decide not to attend college at some point, I would love to do this for a few seasons. That and work in either a Texas oil field or an off shore rig. Oh, and also work in some capacity at a national park, preferrabaly in the Grand Canyon or at Yellowstone.

Great show. My wife and I are both hooked. I've heard there is some legislation in the works or that has already passed that will do away with the short season where everyone scrambles to get as many as they can. Something about wanting to make it safer. Who's your favorite person on the show? I'd have to go with Sig Hansen.

Sig's my favorite too.

I thought they already passed the legislation following season 1? It used to be the entire fleet could catch X amount of crab and whenever they got there they closed the season. Now each boat gets a quota they can catch. They still rush though because the faster they get done the lower their cost and the higher the profit.
