Not all have expressed that as their concern. There's been a lot of sour grapes over Harrison not jumping for joy at the thought of playing for OSU. I have no doubt that he could put in the work and be great, but most of the doubt about his talents came in when he was starting to "trend" to scUM. And that is where the fan boy mentality clouds peoples judement

Lots of work to do. OSU fans need to be patient, particularly after being spoiled by arguably the highest two floors in a recruit that OSU has had (at least in a very long time). Oh, and those two guys played the position and had a very similar ceiling to Harrison.

None of them can run like this though. What he can become in time is remarkable. He had the 2nd best 200m time in Ohio in sneakers. His 100m time was a smidge slower than Parris Campbell. (not that anyone would confuse the two in agility/quickness)

All due respect to Zach, but it’s not a 200m race out there on the field. It’s 4-6 seconds of get off, quick hands, technique and closing speed.

He’s one heck of an athlete for his size. It’s worth getting excited over that but all the points being made about potential vs. Day 1 readiness are real, not sourgrapes IMO.

Nick also had the tremendous luxury of a big bro being elite in college before he got there and obviously taught him a lot before hitting campus. I think Harrison would fit great on this DL with LJsr as a coach as he brings a type of athleticism that is rarely seen on the DL. He can be a Sam Hubbard rush the passer mismatch, a Jalyn Holmes inside-outside hybrid, or a lanky, athletic Chase Young edge rusher.
Very few kids are ready day 1, idc what star they were rated in HS. I laugh at those who think that Zach has had a dramatic recruitment and compare him to Carman. Hes a quiet kid who hits the books and is humble, essentially what every Buckeye fan clamors for, but because hes deciding between scUM and osu hes being chastised(funny thing is, once he hits campus, this whole recruiting saga will be all forgotten).

I guess it's easy to wear the scarlet colored lenses and see why he should stay in central Ohio. I hope he does because he's got freakish kind of upside.

That said, for anyone who has gone through the recruiting process or watched kids go through it... they will tell you the same thing. It's hard. Yeah, some kids dig the attention and that part may be fun... but the work involved in getting to the point that you're recruitable, even when genetically blessed, cannot be minimized. Nor can the kind of hours taken out of a family's life getting a kid to various potential destinations for college... and never mind the travel and expenses associated with camps and showcases.

A kid who's made it this far has created significant opportunities for himself. And God willing, without injury and staying on his trajectory, will be looking at generational wealth in a few short years. To that end, he's entitled to explore those opportunities to determine what, among all options, are likely to get him to his greatest goals.

I don't begrudge a kid for looking around... even the top player in the state of Ohio should explore the options outside of tOSU for no other reasons than to be firm in his final selection and not to mention having the opportunity to see the world in ways that few ever will get the chance. Those chances are far less than once in a life time for the most of us...

All joking aside, seeing how he's handled his recruitment and will be handling his announcement, I'm hard pressed to believe that there's a better opportunity for a player and a coach to dove-tail than Harrision and LJ. There's a part of me that wonders, noting the above, if he's not one who prefers to avoid the circus. And as much as I love Urban, there's a bit of that circus that came to town with a headline name coach like UFM. Perhaps the fit within a program run by Day may ultimately be better suited to him than Urban... I'd certainly think that if he's one to avoid the circus he'd realize some of the clown show in AA for what it is. So my money is on tOSU in the end. Even when I try to play devil's advocate, there's just too many things seem to fall into place for him should he decide to stay home.

Either way... good luck to the kid.

I can't say that he really compares much to any recent OSU DL honestly. He definitely is a freak athlete that needs to work on his technique...right now, he is just flying around like a banshee with his athleticism and dominating with that and his massive reach. Aka an LJ Sr. special. That being said, I will through out Chase Young as the closes...freak athlete, incredible wingspan and reach...way different build, but both share those common characteristics. I think Young was a bit more put together technically but gun to the head, that is my comparison.
