Gradishar was before my time, but I've seen the highlights and they're as good as any I've seen.

Rand Gradishar was a very very good linebacker while at Ohio State and I do not use those three words lightly. If Hubbard can be 85% of Randy Gradishar, we have ourselves a player.I've already stated how ridiculously excited I am to have Sam in this class. But after reading the posts in the best OSU LBs thread, I wonder if Hubbard is a modern day Randy Gradishar? Not saying he has reached that, just his game-style (6'5ish LB with tons of athleticism and range, oversized for his time). In specific, want to call @WoodyWorshiper @NFBuck

"The thing the coaches love about me is my versatility", he said. "They said they can see me at the 5-tech, player a little linebacker/safety hybrid (STAR), linebacker - if I gain enough weight - or even tight end."

He is a very interesting prospect. Might have been over-rated as a 5 star but even if he's "just" a 4 star, that's a darn good prospect. Where does he play? He was a linebacker for just one year so he probably has a lot to learn about the position and will get the dreaded "red shirt". He could even be a TE but that possibility may have left with the departure of Mitchell. I'm thinking a "Bobby Carpenter" like player. He ends up as a "viper".

I see a tight end. Note new jersey number.
