DE/LB Thaddeus Gibson (official thread)

I agree. People seem to think that JT doesn't really know that much and runs a very simple offense and team. I think this is far from the truth and people seem to want to simplify everything he does.

JT may be breaking up the age of entitlement. the senior class may have entered the season thinking they don't need to work hard or make plays. Net..the best play.

Didn't Thad start the Troy game. I thought I saw him on the first play the defense was on the field.

Yes you certainly did. Their first play was a pass to the left, deflected by the big paw of Cameron "Haywood". It was actually Lawrence Wilson, so Thom went 0 for 2 in one try. But yes, Thad was also in the backfield on play 1.

To me, the best part is he is only a So. There may be improvement to come from Thad. Thank God, he didn't choose Michigan which was his early leader.

IIRCC, Thad was down to us and them. When he took his visit to Michigan, it was for "the game". He returned and gave an interview, where he said his visit to Michigan was great. In light of the fact we won the game, someone posted,
"Thad is either a really Buckeye fan, or, he enjoys losing"

Think Thad is the bright spot on the line, but with the inside guys inability to hold the line and force double teams, it is hurting us in terms of being able to unleash Gibson as we need guys like Heyward and Wilson to play the run from the End spots...

But Gibson is ultra talented and if we could just unleash him on the QB he will be a beast...

Needs to keep contain better tho against the run and not get taken out of the play so easy...

When Gibson gets bigger and can defend the run he will be a force...

I honestly wouldn't mind seeing Gibson play the role that Freeman was playing in the Wisky game as the outside standing LB in the 4-3 over...Put Freeman in Homan's spots when you bring that D in...Then have Heyward at the End and leave Gibson outside to blitz or cover, the flats...

Gibson had another forced fumble against Purdue, and appeared to almost ride the QB like a bronco while his teammates recovered . He is really becoming a force, and will need to continue his rise without Wilson. Keep an eye on this one...

Saw that too. Give him some boots, a cowboy hat and a rope... That was wild.
