in college, despite competing/traveling and balancing larger workloads for class, I performed better academically during the season. During the season I rarely had the chance to put homework off untill later in the day. I either did it during my limited window of time, or it didn't get done.

Don't forget all of the academic people looking over his shoulder and making sure he goes to class. The good thing about college football (at least for the poorer students) is that they are forced to take care of their education. Personally I hated the study tables because I didn't need them. For the one semester that I had to go I said I had to go type a paper on my computer (luckily I had a Mac so I couldn't use their computers) every single Sunday study table. I actually went back to my dorm and watched X Files. They changed the rules after that semester so everyone had to stay at study table, but I had a 3.5 so I didn't have to go anyway.

This is great news. Even know most of us knew that this would happen and it was a matter of time.

Now lets hope everything is ok grade-wise and he gets through admissions.

He was rated as 5 stars early in the season until it was rumored that he had grade problems, so I will say we just got a 5 star backer.

Well at least you can put him as a 5 star in your rankings. Now you better go update, so I can make a post.

Sorry, I'm at work (access blocked), so you'll have to wait until later tonight. :tongue2:

Per Rivals, we have the #6 ILB (Johnson), #9 OLB (Gibson), #11 OLB (Homan), and #50 OLB (Moeller). Not too shabby. Not mention a very good possibility of getting JUCO #1 LB Larry Grant.

Linebacker U. I hear some faint echos from PSU calling themselves that, but they need to step back and take a look.

Per Scout's LB rankings (they don't split LB rankings into ILB and OLB):

#8A Grant (listed between #8 and #9 as JC) <- Still tentative
#9 Gibson
#12 Johnson
#14 Homan
#23 Moeller

That's at least four, and possibly five, of the top 23 LBs in the country. Are you kidding me?

By the way, no other team has more than two LBs in the top 25 (Texas 2, USC 2, Georgia 2, Florida 2).

An amazing pickup for the Bucks late in the game. I wanted Gibson so bad in this class...I'm thrilled that he got his grades up and really busted his tail to become a Buckeye.

With his perserverance and determination to fight through all of his obstacles this season, I wouldn't be surprised to see some serious leadership skills out of him on the playing field. He might not be our next 4.0 student like some have said, but this kid has heart and the sky is his only limit. Welcome aboard Thad and I can't wait to watch you destroy scUM rb's for 4 years to come. GREAT DECISION!
