One should be happy for all the young men that will in future don Scarlet and Gray - but I got to say I feel happier for Thad than many others who have given their verbal to this point. Why? Precisely because it has been a really tough hill to climb, he faced extraordinary public scrutiny. Been the subject of character-damaging reports concerning his academic prowess, even early on elsewhere expressed concerns regarding his overall temperament.

Throughout it all Thad has been absolutely steadfast and unmistakably Buckeye through and through. He has made no bones about where he would dream of playing, hid no secret deals, in short he has been as straight a shooter as anyone could ask for. Thad may not be our next Rhodes scholar, but I tell you all his demeanor in the face of the recruiting process makes me certain he will be a very steady player. He worked hard to get this chance, he richly deserves his reward -- welcome to tOSU Thad Gibson (and keep up your efforts in the classroom!)
