If the other guys was punching or kicking him in the nads, then I might justify it.BuckeyeNation27 said:Does it matter?

Lake Catholic defense helps pull plug on Euclid

Successful football teams take advantage when opportunity knocks, and Lake Catholic capitalized when offered a huge opportunity Friday night in a 33-0 season-opening victory over host Euclid at Sparky DiBiasio Stadium.
Trailing, 12-0, on their first possession of the second half, Euclid was in the process of getting a hold of its offense that sputtered terribly in the first half.
The Panthers drove 79 yards in 11 plays and had a first-and-goal on the Cougars' 1-yard line.

With 6-1, 215-pound junior Dane Gardner slipping and sliding for 26 yards on four carries, Lake Catholic went 98 yards in 10 plays as quarterback Ricky Stanzi did the honors from 8 yards.
Joe Misconin's point-after kick sliced the uprights and Lake was ahead, 19-0, with 23 seconds remaining in the third quarter.
"That fumble was huge," Stanzi said.
"When [Euclid] got down to the 1, I thought for sure they were going to punch it in. But we recovered the fumble and then we were able to take the ball 98 yards. That was just awesome."
Stanzi was awesome himself.
The senior, who completed 10 of 19 passes for 148 yards and a touchdown and also rushed for 58 yards and two touchdowns, was instrumental in leading the Cougars to a 12-0 halftime lead.
Lake's first score came with 8:46 left in the half as Stanzi clicked on three passes for 33 yards and ran for another 9 yards in leading the seven-play, 43-yard drive.
An 18-yard pass to Vince Petruziello keyed the march, which was culminated by Stanzi's sneak from 2 yards.
Lake Catholic extended its lead to 12-0 six minutes later on a three-play, 29-yard drive that was sparked by Corey Pruneski's 25-yard punt return.

After Stanzi completed a 16-yard pass to tight end Nick Spahar, the 6-5, 200-pound right-hander found Petruziello on a slant pattern in the right-hand corner of the end zone for a 9-yard touchdown.
"[The fumble] was the killer," Panthers coach Mike Rezzolla. "We're going in for a score, the momentum was changing then . . . . I'm just disappointed our kids couldn't put that behind them, and it resulted in something like this."

In today's local paper, (The Lake County News Herald) they did their annual High School football preview of all the teams in the Lake, Geauga, eastern Cuyahoga County area. Gibson was on the cover of the insert in a Tuxedo, standing on a red carpet in front of a Movie Theatre with the words "NH Varsity Featuring Thaddeus Gibson" in bright lights above the theatre. There was a huge article on him and what a "catch" he will be. There was a photo of teeny-bopper girls smiling and getting his autograph. What a wonderful piece to have in the paper on the day of the first game of the year.
Gibson tonite subsequently, as his team was getting it's butts kicked by Lake Catholic, punched an opposing player. His sorry butt was tossed from the game and he's suspended for next weeks game against Strongsville. Yea, I want this guy.
Well said Grad....As already stated, BP does not allow any form of player bashing on this site.
Euclid recovers, upsets Strongsville
Saturday, September 03, 2005
From staff reports
Playing without stellar linebacker Thaddeus Gibson, Euclid High upset visiting Strongsville, 21-15, Friday.
Gibson had to sit out after being ejected from last week's loss to Lake Catholic.
Euclid (1-1) came up with a big defensive play to thwart Strongsville, ranked 12th in The Plain Dealer's Top 25 poll.
With the Panthers leading, 21-15, with two minutes remaining, Joe Boyd recovered a Strongsville (0-2) fumble. The teams were scoreless in the first half.
Euclid's Jaman Javey ran for two touchdowns. He finished with 161 yards on 28 carries.

Euclid's defense, which was solid in stopping Strongsville's running attack, will again be tested by Benedictine's backfield trio of Jahmal Brown, Troy Huddleston and Chris Austin. Riding in Euclid's favor, however, is that its defense will be at full strength since standout Thaddeus Gibson is back after serving a one-game suspension. In their first two games, (a 37-31 loss to Pennsylvania's Gateway and 41-27 loss to Lake Catholic), Benedictine has allowed big leads to slip away and its secondary has proven vulnerable. But there's a personal twist to this game. Bengals coach Art Bortnick is a graduate and former standout at Euclid.
