DE/LB Nathan Williams (official thread)

If he is in, and I am not saying he is, does this mean Sweat is out?

No. Sweat = LB, Williams = DL.
Come to think of it, the offer to Williams might have been a result of Willie Mobley declaring Minnesota as his leader. I still think that Williams' offer has nothing to do with Andrew Sweat.

This offer has ZERO to do with Sweat...I will be absolutely SHOCKED if Sweat ends up anywhere other than OSU by mid-May. I'm with LJB on the Mobley thing...but I think we still get Goebel as well.

Isn't Mobley being looked at as an eventual DT? Williams isn't being looked at in that regard.

Welcome to the Buckeye family, Nathan!! You're gonna be a FORCE on our D- I have no doubt in my mind. Looking forward to seeing what you can do on the field in S&G!

Just another example of the rich gettin' richer. I like this get a lot. Thought it was a typo on the commit chart in The Dispatch this morning!

I am feeling a signing day offer here or maybe even when they go visit him on 2/2.

He also kinda sounds like one that might get it over with early...

Well, the you might have been off on the signing day offer, but you were right on the money about him getting it over with early! Offer/commit.

There are some, including Lichtenfels, that think Nathan could eventually grow into a 270-280 lb. DT/DE in the Patterson mold, much like Mobley.

These kids are big.

At the 245 listed by Scout Williams actually LOWERS the average weight of this incoming class (if you leave Buchanan out of the equation).

Quite the contrast to last year when only two kids were listed at over 225.

Getting back to an earlier comment about having to take a guy like this off the field to make the game fair at his level...I'm reading how he had 110 carries for 750 yards (after playing D all game as well)...I mean he's averaging almost 7 yards a pop. At that productivity, I'm almost surprised they don't give him the ball another 100 times this year...

And then he's causing 8 fumbles and 24 tackles for loss and 150 tackles.

Scout $

By Bob Lichtenfels and Bill "The Bank" Greene...even more on Nathan's commitment, including quotes from Nathan about how much he wanted this offer and how he plans to hook-up with Adams and the other commits to start recruiting.
