DE Keith Wells (Columbus State; transfer to Ohio Dominican)

FSU just signed commitment #23 in JUCO DE Markus White. I doubt that means much in our recruitment of Keith Wells, when FSU will sign close to 30 guys this class, but White did have 25 sacks last year and led his team to a title.

You forgot the crucial wink versus stretching banana info

Can somebody elaborate the need for the "stretching of the dancing bananas"? I didn't really read anything that was indicative that he was going to switch his commitment. Now maybe I don't read between the lines as well as some of you, so pardon me. I would love to have him here, from all reports, he is a great prospect. But don't count the chickens before they hatch.

Elephant has inside info here and he gave the wink...I was just merely pointing out in good fun that we do the stretching of the bananas...

Rivals $

12/12

Film.

Not a whole lot here but you can see how quick his feet are for a guy who is listed at 6-5. Speed is not an issue either. I can't help but watch these clips and wonder how good this kid is going to be once he gets on a collegiate S&C program. To maintain that speed and agility while adding 20-30 pounds would do wonders for his prospects.

Reading that brought to mind Derrik Harvey who signed with UF.

Hope there was a differant uniform color scheme in your mind

You cannot have too many big fast edge players on your team. We have seen injuries hurt us at DE the last few year (Williams, Worthington, and of course Wilson) We could sure us another W in our D-line alphabet.

I love Wells on film really...he is very quick off the edge and even played LB in some clips. His first step is extremely quick and as Wad said, when he adds some weight and strength, I think Wells could be scary good. He would be an excellent pass rusher and he has great potential. Keith's best football is most definetly ahead of him.

PREFACE: This is not directed at any one poster...just a reaction to some of the responses I have seen lately.

I don't understand when "having fun" with recruiting became such a bad thing...or indicative of a kid not being a "Tressel-type" kid or some of the other stuff I have seen. Just for one second try and put yourself in the shoes of a kid like Keith Wells. I don't know Keith's history personally, but many of these kids have never left their county, little alone the state they grew up in. Next thing you know you are getting the red carpet rolled out for you by some of the most important captains of the college football industry. You are privledged all of a sudden. Why wouldn't you take full advantage of the situation? I know I certainly would. And when I came back from each visit I would probably be raving about how great it was...

That's all I have to say about that...back to topic at hand.

My goodness, no doubt. I had the great luxury of quite a bit of travel as a kid, but I know that if I had ever been offered what these kids have been offered, I would definitely take all those trips. So yeah, have fun with it!

Wells though, hard to read based upon his comments thus far. Gut says he stays south just because that's what he knows for the most part.
