No doubt both sides are taking huge risks but Bosa will eventually get paid. The Chargers, on the other hand, are going to face consequences in future drafts and with free agents. Nothing they can do now to repair that damage.

Sometimes it's not about the money. Does he want to sign that contract and be locked into all that petty bullshit, stuck in a terrible situation with the worst owner in the NFL for the next 4/5 years, potentially 6 and 7 if he gets tagged?

Fuck the Chargers and fuck Spanos, I say. Hold firm Joey.

By and large sd is simply trying to win in the court of public opinion because they want a new stadium. Around the NFL everyone knows they are in the wrong, and they will have to deal with that fallout for a long time. So, even if they win, they will still lose.

And there's the problem here - guaranteed bonus money should be guaranteed. The Chargers are a billion-dollar franchise that is literally hardballing a rookie over his "insurance policy" in case he busts his knee. Petty and utterly classless.

Disappointingly... I suspect Bosa may give in... with total intent on not staying after this contract... however, that'd be really tough to play for an org you dislike...

Wonder if they'd get offers from around the league... but again, the SD fans would go beserk... they finally have a pass rusher and to let him go because you can't sign him

And there's the reason why the NFLPA is the weakest. The players have not stood by each other.

Interesting that SD wants a new playground. The Giants had to build their own stadium. The 49ers had some civic money, but Levi Strauss paid an enormous fee for naming rights, enough that the city made 3M in the first year. Who's going to pay for the Rams new place is interesting - St. Louis built them a stadium, but the team is leaving before the stadium is paid for, leaving the city with the debt and no team to pay it off.

THIS!!

Justin Gilbert is STILL on the Browns and he was the 8 pick. He's the worst top 10 pick I've ever seen and I'm a Browns fan so I've seen some bad ones. First round picks get a ton of rope before teams give up on them.
