DE Joey Bosa (Def ROY, 3x Pro Bowl, Los Angeles Chargers)

Suspension of Joey Bosa Will Only Drive Him Further

When Ohio State announced the suspensions of four players for the season opener against Virginia Tech, the biggest absence was junior defensive end Joey Bosa.

“Probably off the get-go would be arguably one of the best defensive players in the United States of America won't play in that game. So that's the one,” Urban Meyer said of the biggest impact of the suspensions at Big Ten Media Days.

“Obviously, when you lose the big defensive end, that everyone knows where he's at, that's a concern.”

After the season-ending injury to wide receiver Noah Brown, the suspension of three other receivers has take the front page ahead of the game with the Hokies, but that doesn’t mean the Buckeyes will feel the loss of Bosa any less.

As a sophomore, Bosa was OSU’s 27th unanimous All-American at Ohio State and projected to be one of the top players selected in next year’s NFL Draft. Last year, the shrug-master led the Big Ten with 21 tackles-for-loss and 13.5 sacks.

He is a driven player who will sit an extra week to start the new season, but that hasn’t changed his approach.

“He’s handling it great. He’s handling it about as good as I could have imagined,” fellow defensive end Sam Hubbard said of Bosa.

“He goes like he was going to be starting that first game because he knows he’s going to be the guy for the rest of the season and he’s really just trying to make our unit better because that’s the only thing he can do. I don’t know how he could handle it any better.”

Bosa hasn’t become one of the best players in the nation for no reason. The star defensive end has always been driven, but this suspension for violating Ohio State department of athletics’ policy has taken him to the next level.

“Laser-like focus,” Meyer said of how Bosa has changed since he learned he would miss game one. “I went out to our conditioning test the other day and watched it. I’m not sure I’ve seen many human beings do what I saw him do.”

Please keep the Hawaii offensive linemen in your prayers
Dude, no kidding. I stayed up until 5am watching the Hawaii-Colorado game Thursday (I'm a footballholic, and I have a problem), they didn't have a great presence on offense. Bosa will be a man on a mission.

They're screwed on both sides of the ball, really.. Zeke should run all over them. They struggled the most with the run game against Colorado.

If I am Hawaii QB I skip a class or something and get suspended for the first half.

Suspended for the whole first half? How many women is he going to have to rape to get that kind of punishment? I assume that the Hawaii coaches are running a tight ship out there.

Upon further review;

If I was the Hawaii QB, and my coach ran a Fisherian tight ship, I'd go rape a chick, do $5K+ in vandalism damage, get caught shoplifting AND yell misogynistic obscenities from atop a table in the student union in the hopes that was all enough to get me a first half suspension of one game (but I'd dress out for the game anyway because you never know).

If that wasn't enough I'd consider murder and arson but probably just stick to rape because I like rape.
