its not official but the dead period extension has been recommended by whatever subcommittee at the NCAA.. first date they can vote on it is the 17th ... if they punt then its mid march before they will look at itWell shoot
I've been saying this for years. Worry could be over the non revenue earning sports... but sorry to derail. Back to JTTWhy don’t colleges band together to just dissolve the NCAA?
Because colleges banded together to FORM the NCAA....Why don’t colleges band together to just dissolve the NCAA?
This is the most succinct and accurate indictment I’ve ever heard. We done sir.Because colleges banded together to FORM the NCAA....
Al Shanker, former president of the American Federation of Teachers, alleged once said: "When schoolchildren start paying union dues, that's when I'll start representing the interests of schoolchildren."
The main interests of the NCAA are threefold:
1. Generate money for member institutions;
2. Protect tax-exempt status of member institutions; and
3. Protect member institutions from massive lawsuits.
Notice that protecting/promoting the interests of athlete-students is not one of the NCAA's main interests.
By the way, the seemingly unending COVID dead period is an example of #3, above.
-His dad shoots down the rumors that there will be a commitment this week. He won’t decide until he’s visited Ohio State, Alabama, USC, Oregon and Washington.
what type of visit “official” or “unofficial”?

I’m not blaming him at all... but. the reality is by the time officials are allowed... it might be after the season has started.... again not his fault but its reality right now...He and his family want the "official" visits which are paid for by the school and allows full interaction with the coaches.
This is a major decision. You can't blame the young man and/or his family for wanting to actually visit all the schools under consideration before making a final decision, i.e. signing a LOI with a school.
It will be June at the earliest. I can't believe they would extend it, but I also couldn't believe this extension. When do non-early enrolls typically move to campus?I’m not blaming him at all... but. the reality is by the time officials are allowed... it might be after the season has started.... again not his fault but its reality right now...
Really!?! We're talking about the NCAA here, and like you said, I too can't believe they've extended it this long.It will be June at the earliest. I can't believe they would extend it, but I also couldn't believe this extension. When do non-early enrolls typically move to campus?
per this ..
sounds like unofficials are coming
