Walton got promoted to co-DC and Matt G got promoted to pass coordinator. The plan is for Matt G and Walton to take over as DCs in a few years. Patricia doesn't want to be a college coordinator.

I don't disagree. Not a hire I'm excited about. Hoping it works out and he leaves for an NFL DC job in a year or two.

Well, he's got the paper credentials, and I have to think he's a one or two year rehab project for the NFL while imparting additional knowledge to Walton and Guerrieri. I don't think Day will put up with too much assholishness from him, so I'm not too worried about that, and when he leaves, a Walton (presumably) promotion to DC will have more credibility. I think Day has learned that multiplicity in defensive looks is important, and I'm assuming that Patricia has capacity to bring that to the table.

Bizarre hire. Next year should be interesting with a first time playcaller, all these strange promotions and Patricia as DC. Not to mention double digit new starters.

I'm not a fan of this one but I hope he just doesn't get in the way of what is being built. Keeping the status quo is good enough to win a title, he just can't go backward.

Day values NFL experience. Plus the fact that CFB has basically become a professional sport at this point.

I do like all the promotions and not even mad if this is just a 1 year rental. I do love Walton and what he brings in recruiting.
