I would expect them to improve over the season barring any major injuries. Still a new system.

2014 team was in the same boat, and improved through the season.

2021 had to deal with the scheme changing week to week. Not ideal.

I recon we'll stay pretty close to those Defensive stats for the year with the rankings improving greatly due to other teams currently ahead of us getting beat up as the season goes along. If we were all asked before the season how we'd feel with 11pts and 260yds against for the season, we'd all scream hallelujah!

We're going to have games a lot better than that and some a little worse. I already say give Knowles a raise and longer contract right now. He understands me and I dig it

Yards per play is 15th in the country. A bit high by Buckeye standards, but for game 5 in a new system, I’ll take it.

They are #14 in scoring defense and #11 in 3rd down % defense

Yeah 3rd downs is such a huge improvement. I'm not here stressing on e very 3rd down even 3rd and long like last year.

Braelon Allens 75 yard TD run in garbage time is literally the difference in this being the 6th ranked total defense and 10th ranked by efficiency. Considering Burkes play and the occasional big plays, the defense is headed in the right direction after just five weeks.
