DB Eugene Clifford (official thread)

We shouldn't have to worry much about Miami with Eugene. A lot of uncertainty there now. I can't think of a coach more on the hotseat right now then Coker.
Shouldn't be on the hotseat much longer. Press Conference in Miami scheduled for 3:00 P.M.

EDIT: Apprently the press conference never happened.. just a rumor I guess.

Eugene obviously has the potential to excel on either side of the both because of his pure athleticism, but I think defense is where he belongs. Very very few high school football players can read quarterbacks' eyes as well as Clifford, and even fewer has the type of hand that can go up and snap an INT or bat the ball down. He has good speed, makes good breaks on the ball and can lay the wood. Obviously he can make a good WR too especially in redzone situations when he has to go up and grab the ball, but defense is where he looks more comfortable at this point.

I saw him play last year in one of the Ohio vs USA games and he played extremely well. Just to think that he was only a junior defensive back at that point. I really hope we get this kid i think he will be special. He is my number one cant miss prospect this year.

While this may be true, the O-Zone is notorious for people posting false info...wait for confirmation from another source. Checking ESPN Insider right now...
