DB Dustin Fox (National Champion)

Dustin is handling this very well.

This sort of thing is also why I would never question any kid who wanted to leave early. It is very difficult to make the NFL and the differences between players at any given position are often slight. This could be a multi-million dollar injury.

“They’re going to put a plate in that will stay in,” Fox said. “Hopefully, as soon as the bone heals I can get back. The thing is with the plate in there holding it together, I won’t have to have a cast or anything. It might take four to six weeks to heal. When I come back, I’ll probably have to have a pad over it for protection.”

the plate will help. not only will it do the previously mentioned things, but he won't have to worry about breaking his arm there again.

best wishes

Great composure in a bad situation...Fox leads by example. Also, it's really nice to hear Tressel offering all this personal support for the guys being injured. It's not something he has to do, but I know it meant a lot to Brian Hartline and it sounds like Fox is finding some comfort in his wisdom as well.

I'm not sure who this KillerNut character is but apparently he's been on my nuts for a while on Buckeye message boards. I'll be back soon so he can start hating on me again. He'll need the practice for when he's picking on me when I'm in the NFL next year. Buckeye Planet rocks!"

DB Dustin Fox

could the fox haters have been presented any stronger proof of his value than what has been witnessed the past two weeks...

i doubt any of them would come out and admit their error though.....

didnt need a running game with fox on defense......the defense could actually cover and tackle when he was in there....

how many third and longs have been given up since fox was injured???

how many stupid screens all of a sudden have worked against the defense since fox went down??

I actually never posted about doubting fox's abilities as a corner, but always thought we could play someone else that is a more natural corner. I thought fox gave up too much short stuff. Obviously, his absense has shown how valuable he actually is to our defense as a corner, and especially as a leader. Hopefully he will be back saturday.

i love fox and cant understand anybody that says he shouldnt play.....but he isnt the reason we win or lose.

if we have fox back there or not....our run game still sucks. say we win those 2 games because of more inspired defense........are we really that much better off? we would still be masking our terrible offense with Ws.

nation...i agree that fox cant help the offense....

but the miserable defense would be greatly improved.....i dont think nwestern does what it did if fox is playing.....i dont think wisky scores seven every time they are in the red zone if fox is playing....i dont think every opponent completes 90% of their third and 10 or more if fox is playing.....
