True, however I can see why one would give the responses that our team sold last year before the game. On the flip side, I can't see how anyone would have his attitude then take us more serious off camera, makes no sense. This all began the day BCSCG was announced, and it will end Janurary 7th....

This kid is just that, a kid. Someone stuck a microphone in his face. Athletes bluster these days. It's who they are. The more respect they have for someone, the more they bluster.

Bluster and taking-someone-lightly are two very different things.

You never asked for my impression, nor would I expect you to; but here it is. I think he sounds like a kid who has watched film of the Michigan game and thinks that the speed we'll play indoors is the same speed we played in a freezing rain. He probably never played in a freezing rain in his life, so maybe I'm right; maybe that is what he's thinking.

But if my impressions had been right at least 60% of the time in the past, I would be a betting man and I would be ridiculously wealthy. I am neither.

We may ALL have that impression. But not a single one of us knows.

One last question about this situation, Did anyone here(seeing as there are many knowledgable folks), hear what actually started all the fuss?
Just like the recruiting forum, if there is available info, it will be posted. If there is nothing that can be posted, asking about it isn't going to change that.

Just thought it could have been overlooked as a post due to the worry of if he was playing or not? Not that it really matters but I was just wondering, and for the record I'm really glad he is playing.

Ohio State football: Washington to play in title game

DOUG LESMERISES
Plain Dealer Reporter
COLUMBUS - Ohio State starting cornerback Donald Washington is practicing with the team and will play in the BCS National Championship against LSU on Jan. 7, Ohio State spokesperson Shelly Poe confirmed today.
Eight days ago, Washington's suspension for a violation of team rules was reported by the Columbus Dispatch and confirmed by several sources to the Plain Dealer. However, when Ohio State issued a statement that day announcing the suspension of freshman backup defensive back Eugene Clifford, Washington was not mentioned.
Poe said that day no further information would be available until the team returned from Christmas break. And now Washington is ready to go. A sophomore who has played very well in his first year as a starter, Washington's absence would have weakened Ohio State's pass defense.

Still, it was a controversy involving a suspended player that Tressel had to sidestep later.
Several media outlets reported just over a week ago that starting cornerback Donald Washington and backup Eugene Clifford had been suspended for the game against LSU. Ohio State later confirmed that Clifford had been suspended, but never mentioned Washington in a release.
Washington has been practicing with the team and will play in the title game.
When asked if he had been close to losing Washington, Tressel said no during a brief interview session after the presentation ceremony.
He even took a shot at the media outlets which had cited unnamed sources for the reports about Washington.
Asked about reports there had been a lot of contact in practice, Tressel said, "No, I don't know there was heavy hitting. That might have been one of those inaccurate sources or something. I don't think we've tackled since we've been [working out]."

Washington says he was never in trouble with team

NEW ORLEANS ? Donald Washington and about 20 other Ohio State players hustled down an Atlanta International Airport corridor in hopes of making a connecting flight to New Orleans after being delayed in Columbus because of snow Wednesday morning.
The group made it with a few minutes to spare. And that may not have been the only close call Washington had on his way to the Big Easy.

According to media reports, the starting cornerback was suspended for the BCS championship for violating team rules along with back-up Eugene Clifford. Washington reportedly appealed the decision and was reinstated, although he denied ever being in trouble.
"It was all kind of a misunderstanding with the way it was announced," Washington said. "I was never really suspended.
"I don't even know how it got out in the media or whatever. I was watching ESPN and saw my name go across the ticker."

Dispatch

Jenkins on Washington

Jenkins acknowledged reports that cornerback Donald Washington might not have been allowed to play against LSU.
Last week, T he Dispatch reported that Washington successfully appealed a possible suspension for violating a team rule. The university never acknowledged Washington's status, though, and coach Jim Tressel denied that the Buckeyes were ever close to losing Washington.
Jenkins had a different story.
"When it initially came out, it was that (Washington) wasn't going to play," Jenkins said. "But then I talked to him a few times. He said it would be under review and things like that.
"So after that, everybody just sat down and just prayed that he'd be able to play, and it turned out he could."
Jenkins said Washington's absence would have changed the dynamic of the defense, "seeing as Donald is one of our premier corners."
