DB Donald Washington III (Official Thread)

Omg I am so happy right now. Donald is a VERY important playero n our Defense.
Donold is like a mini Malcolm Jenkins, its great 2 have 2 shutdown CB's. They give our linebackers and D-line way more time to sack the QB.
What exactly is a mini Malcolm Jenkins?? And why is Donald considered that?

actually I was going to say a mix of the hulk and the flash.... but thats just what I see? Could be the Cpt Morgan speaking though

Donald is definatly a talented kid though.... He would've been a huge blow to our defense because then everybody gets rotated up a spot and that might create mismatches

Well, its obvious their mentality coming into this game is that were "nothing special"

- good.

Let's slow down a second...

It's well known that we haven't played many marquee receivers this year. Manningham had his worst day ever against us under horrible conditions. Our DBs haven't seen any other top receivers.

Unless of course you take into consideration that every one of the guys in our 2-deep played against two 1st-round draft picks in practice last year. That kind of waters the point down a bit I suppose...

OK, OK, I'll stop being sarcastic for a second... but only a second.

Their receivers have gone against DBs as good as ours (overall), but only in practice. They have not seen better corners, period.

Our DBs have gone against wide-outs better than theirs, but only in practice.

Advantage: No one

But if anyone on either side truly thinks dismissively of his opponent, then he is at a decided disadvantage. And you can't tell what the players are really thinking by reading the quotes they give to reporters. We won't know how this is playing out in their minds and in their preparation until the game is well under way.

"To tell ya the truth, he don't bring to much"

While I have a tendency to agree with what your saying, I'm sorry -Bryd's comments completely dismiss what you've said. There's no other way to interpret his choice of words, especially with the smirk and cocky voice.

He's taking our DB's, (namely Washington) very light. I'm all for being objective, but there is no gray area with what he's said. This a quote that makes everything black and white with his emotions.

And i'm sure there are a sizeable amount of players on the LSU roster that feel the same way with their respective match-up's across the board. All good, just more motivation for us.

I've been around WAY too long to believe what an athlete says to a reporter has any bearing whatever on what he's thinking. For some it does, for some it doesn't; and I have yet to meet the person who can really tell.

Based on what the Buckeyes were saying at this time last year; how many of us knew that they had the wrong mind-set going into the game?

This one quote from this one guy is not going to change 4 decades of experience.

True, however I can see why one would give the responses that our team sold last year before the game. On the flip side, I can't see how anyone would have his attitude then take us more serious off camera, makes no sense. This all began the day BCSCG was announced, and it will end Janurary 7th....
