Going to have to step it up indeed...our secondary was already ranked 54th in the nation in overall pass defense and losing Bryant sure doesn't help.

In An Instant
Sidelined with an injury, Christian Bryant hopes to continue building brotherhood, leadership and positivity
Christian Bryant
Oct. 26, 2013
In an instant everything can change. For Christian Bryant, the critical moment took place with 30 seconds remaining in Ohio State's eventual 31-24 win over Wisconsin.
The primetime lights were shining on Ohio Stadium, as the crowd remained in their seats eager for the victory bell to sound. It was third down for the Badgers and Bryant, a safety, was trailing Wisconsin running back James White as he had for most of the game. However, this time, following a dump-off pass, Bryant's leg was taken out from under him by another player.
The senior captain struggled to get to the sideline, hopping on his right leg to ease the pain. With less than 30 seconds remaining, he knew the clock needed to continue running to secure a Buckeye win.
"My first thought was I couldn't run off the field how I wanted and needed to," Bryant said. "Even after I went down I still didn't know it was as serious as it was. I thought it might have been like a twisted ankle or something. As soon as I got to the locker room they X-rayed it and told me my ankle was broken."
As the team funneled into the locker room, the sound of victory was hushed as news spread of their fallen captain. As fellow senior safety C.J. Barnett explained, losing Bryant on the field felt like more than losing a teammate, it felt like losing a family member.
"It was devastating," Barnett said. "It was huge. I didn't have a chance to even enjoy the win because I wanted to run back to the locker room to check on him. We're like brothers basically."
The emotional toll of Bryant's loss was not immune to head coach Urban Meyer. The Buckeye leader pounded the podium in front of Ohio State's postgame media contingent, expressing how upset even thinking of the injury made him.
"We lost our captain," Meyer said. "I ask you to keep Christian's family in your prayers. That darn kid has done so much for our program, has come so far, incredible leadership skills. I love that guy."

Filing for a medical redshirt remains a possibility for Christian Bryant, but he may be able to return for a bowl game. Weighing options.
Grasping at straws, wondering if there is any chance of CB making it back for the bowl game?
Oh, please.... better than 5 "Pitt" Brown's. He might be the worst defensive player to don the scarlet and grey in recent memory. Almost every big play we have given up in two years has been due to him. CB's injury may be what prevented us from a National Championship berth
Oh, please.
Aside from completely ignoring the rule against trashing Buckeyes, this is just idiocy. Corey didn't, probably, live up to expectations (his as well as ours), but the staff clearly thought he was our best hope given injuries and other limitations.
I agree with one thing -- losing Christian Bryant was huge. But I don't see this team winning the NC even with him.
TL;DR but...Bashing the kid would be saying something derogatory against his character and personal life, which I did not nor know anything about. But facts are facts: Philly Brown has been a major detriment to our defense and has been in the thick of almost all of bad secondary plays. He has been picked on all of the last two seasons by QBs and it's worked. Pointing out he is not a good football player is not bashing, theatrics aside. But back to Christian....even though our secondary play and coach schemes haven't been the best, our major weakness on D has been at the safety spot vacated by Bryant's injury. While CB missed tackles due to a failure to wrap up at times trying to lay the wood, he at least did a good job of keeping the action in front of him. That is something philly brown has failed to do time and time again. And is a major reason why we lost to MSU and our secondary has gotten gashed. That is why I believe a healthy CB could have made the secondary more sound and enabled us to get to a NC. Would we have won? Probably not because I still think FSU's offense would be too overwhelming for this d even with CB. But you never know until you play and now we don't even have a chance.
considering your struggles with the difference between facts and opinions, I am shocked that you think you have free reign to trasha kid for his play.Bashing the kid would be saying something derogatory against his character and personal life, which I did not nor know anything about.
such delicious irony that you pretend your opinion is a fact while discussing a wideout underachieving on defense. But facts are facts: Philly Brown has been a major detriment to our defense and has been in the thick of almost all of bad secondary plays. Engaging in ridiculous hyperbole about 5 Pitts being worse than 1 ankled Christian is.Pointing out he is not a good football player is not bashing, theatrics aside.
Lol I hope he can return too. Him with one ankle is better than 5 "Pitt" Brown's. He might be the worst defensive player to don the scarlet and grey in recent memory. Hyperbolic horse[Mark May].
