I lucked into mine. I went to the pharmacy while I was grocery shopping at Jewel-Osco and asked if they had any no-shows and were going to have to throw any doses out. The pharmacist said they had two that day, and that since it was late afternoon, they weren't going to hold them any longer for any 65+. So, I got my shot, which automatically locked me into my second shot four weeks to the hour from my first.

Are people making multiple appointments that are causing the no-shows, do we think?

My barber, who really needs to get this done IMO... Was trying to make an appointment, and wherever he called would only do it a week out for that reason, but told him if he came down there now, they would have a dose for him. (This is an old school one guy shop, so if he skips the day, no $ and its already been hard on him... I'm pretty sure he got it yesterday).

Wife and I are eligible and registered at 6 places. Not even getting any opportunities to get an appointment. Lots of folks we know though seem to have no issues getting a shot. I’m not following how this is supposed to work.

there is an app that was supposed to pull in all the available appointments but that sucked. I found using Walgreens app to be very easy and if you register and use that in the early AM (i got in and scheduled today before 7am) there were plenty of appointments down in Colerain and adjacent areas but the did fill up quickly. Had no success with Walmart or CVS...both, as of this morning, were still stuck on being 60+ in Ohio.

Not sure how the registration process for the mass vaccine sites work in your neck of the woods, but the ones in Ohio you just go to the site the state set up and search for an appointment. They opened them yesterday morning in OH and I heard from a friend who scheduled one right away. I think by the afternoon there were still appointments, but they were for a few weeks down the road.

Short version - I thought the mass vaccines were only if you lived in that county. Apparently not as you just need to be an eligible OH resident as he lives in a totally different county. So, hopefully you have a mass vaccine site nearby.

Rite Aid and Meijer are doing vaccines. Meijer you can register at, but Rite Aid is a total cluster F. You just have to keep checking back. My sister-in-law and her husband drove an hour to get their first shot. I’m not doing that. I hear of people doing what Ord did and getting in. One place told us we couldn’t register if we didn’t have a doctor in their network. I was in my local Meijer yesterday and couldn’t have told you they were giving shots. There was nothing to indicate where to go to check in or acknowledge that they gave them.

I have no problem waiting my turn, but the process is totally fucked.....no consistency
