I have the opposite feelings. I thought I'd never say this but I miss the office environment. I'm anxious to get back.

This thread is officially one year old today.

What began as a unique story abroad, has totally changed life as we know it. I’ve been Working From Home since March 13th and no end in sight. :(

honestly, I hope I never have to go back in to the office when this is over. The last year has proven I (we) can do our job effectively at home with increased productivity. no stress from sitting in traffic an hour each way. saved huge money on gas and not eating out for lunch. and have gone a year (knock on wood) without catching so much as a cold. just my opinion.

I’ve been work from home for at least the last six or seven years. The wife has been doing it for 18. While I sympathize with folks who had to adjust to it, I think that as many are finding, the positives outweigh the negatives. On a personal level, I’ve taken the year to focus on my health and am down 60+ lbs in less than a year and my BP last week was 114/58. I’m not sure that I could have done that with having to do the commute and give up the flexibility of jumping on the elliptical between meetings during the day. From a business perspective, given the remote nature our our company, with the even more remote that we’ve had to become, we’ve been able to divest real estate and put the money to things that really drive the business. I’m happy to return to being on an airplane a few days a month, but I will say that, aside from the mental breaking up of the time with travel, I don’t miss the old office environment one bit.

But a lot of people miss the infighting and prestige of the office environment. And the after work drinking and hookups!

I am 51 and married for over half my life to the same awesome woman...my after work hookup consists of me stopping at a store and sneaking a little debbie snack cake on the way home so she doesn’t scold me for being a cheating diabetic

This happened yesterday and is important information for our age group.

A friend had his 2nd dose of the vaccine at the vaccination center after which he began to have blurred vision on the way home.

When he got home, he called the vaccination center for advice and to ask if he should go see a doctor, or be hospitalized.

He was told NOT to go to a doctor or a hospital, but just return to the vaccination center immediately and pick up his glasses.
