Just listen to the experts like Fauci and not Trump or the media, you'll be fine. I'm looking to be self quarantined at least till the end of June. Not bad for me since I'm retired. It's you working stiff that have to take it on the chin. The Feds will have to keep the money coming for you.

Are you suggesting that Fauci is any better than the WH or the media? The issue with all of these voices are that they have a singular agenda they are pushing that aligns with their goal(s). I would offer that Fauci gives two shits about the global economy and his goal is to prevent spread of the virus and the associated mortality. He can be very good at his job at the expense of other very important considerations... which will likely lead to suboptimal outcomes for everyone.

There’s likely a bit of truth coming from everyone... listening to everyone with a healthy dose of skepticism and recognition of what you’re hearing as it relates to their agenda will yield the most informed understanding.

The same Fauci and CDC who didn’t get concerned till 3/1. They were worried about racism and illegal immigration.

Fauci said multiple times that he would rather be accused of overreacting and that there is no down side to overreacting. His comments align with your perception. When he said it, I yelled at the TV that there are indeed consequences to overreacting as well. People may die as well from the economic impact.

There are ways to fix the economic impact after we save lives. Or....there would be if we had actual leadership. But you should fix the immediate threat before you can work on the long term one. If anybody has ideas to fix both at the same time, let's hear them.

That nobody's a perfect conveyer of truth, nobody's a 100% liar, and people have different job responsibilities and priorities. doesn't means that everyone is equally truthful. That's a false equivalence. I'm not going to treat everything Fauci says as the gospel, but based on his track record of service and expertise, I'll absolutely suggest that he's better than the WH and at least most media and give what he says a lot more credibility than anything coming out of the mouth of the POTUS, his minions, any federal elected official, and most others. I agree with you on his primary goal and responsibility, that's he's not the best (or even a) source of information on all aspects of the situation, and that other sources are required to try to assess the full economic and social costs and benefits of public health actions.

The ability to test, or better yet the ability to rapidly adapt to the situation and deliver wide spread testing is the answer to a more intelligent response to both sides of medical/financial issue.

Instead of being able to operate with a scalpel we had to use a rusty snow shovel and in the process a lot of unnecessary damage was done to healthy tissue.
