Too young to see Barry Lyndon. Thank God.

It's on my list of movies to see. I enjoy Kubrick from what I've seen (2001, Clockwork, Shining are all fantastic).

I just have little desire to watch a shitty movie, no matter how good it looks. :p I certainly respect the cinematography, I often get made fun of for it. Haha

So I've seen a few trailers lately that have me excited for this year's movies.. I know I've mentioned all of these (I think), but still. Time for new discussion.

I think Terminator: Salvation looks fucking awesome. Looks like it's just going to be a HUGE action movie. Those are nice every once in a while. (This could also be me being a biased NIN fan and getting giddy when The Day the Whole World Went Away played in the theater during the preview :banger:)

Public Enemies looks like it's going to be awesome as well. Depp is a great actor, and it doesn't look like he's going to remind me of Captain Jack Sparrow. Win. Michael Mann is a fantastic director as well. The trailer is excellent.

Not excited for Wolverine.

Up is going to be awesome because it's PIXAR.

Star Trek we've discussed, but every time I watch one of the trailers I get more excited.

I think Angels & Demons looks like it'll be a good follow-up to The Da Vinci Code, which I actually liked. Too bad Audrey Tautou isn't in it though. :(

You're such a fucking douchebag.

How old are you? You don't want to see a movie about a guy that's like two hundred years old with a metal skeleton that has claws come out of his hands...but you want to see a cartoon? :shake:

Damnit Numbers!!!

But seriously...

How the fuck did you not like The Lion King? :shake:

I've made a clear line in my mind, dividing the X-person "Wolverine" from TSUN.

I haven't seen it since I was a little kid. Didn't really give a shit about it back then though. Land Before Time was pretty awesome though.. so I guess I liked six kids' movies. I think Land Before Time was the first movie I ever owned. :p

X-Men.. just never got into them. Didn't really ever get into the superhero stuff. I've just liked a lot of the superhero movies lately.

Be sure to check out Dr. Strangelove, Spartacus, and Full Metal Jacket. Paths of Glory is a decent early Kubrick. Lolita is saved only by Peter Sellars short performance, James Mason's performance may be one of the worst ever, considering how badly he whiffed on portraying one of the most complicated characters in literary history (IMO). I tried to watch Barry Lyndon when I was in HS, I remember literally crawling to the VCR, hoping I had enough strength left to hit "stop" before I died of boredom. The cinematography is beautiful, I seem to remember it was one of the only films shot using only natural lighting, but Ryan O'neal as an 18th century Irish aristocrat? A film that is oft forgotten, but has a similar look to BL, with a much better script and cast, is The Duelists, which was Ridley Scott's first major production. Harvey Keitel and Keith Carradine play two Napoleonic officers who's feud sparks a series of duels that spans many years. Story's not an all-timer, but the look is great, and some of the best swordplay choreography ever captured on film.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

6th book was my favorite in the series, and some of the scenes from the trailer look exactly like I pictured them when reading--which is so often the case with the HP movies.
