While we should all be insulted that the new G.I. Joe movie wants us take Marlon Wayans semi-seriously, I can't hate all the Iron Man-like exoskeleton action going on in this new French trailer.

io9 has the full video posted on their site, which has some pretty cool imaginings of future military tech going on. Osprey-like, VTOL aircrafts that transform with ease, nanobots which devour the Eiffel tower, face masks that close up like Mark II's and oh yeah?crime bosses who live in underwater cities. I could do without the pulsing and flashing style lifted from the Terminator Salvation teasers, but whatever.

Did you see the preview last night...sure looks like ol' Storm Shadow is now an anorexic pilates instructor...I still hope that is not what the final product is going to look like...I will be supremely pissed off.

I'm already supremely pissed off. From what I've seen of the trailers, they've shat all over the G.I. Joe I grew up with in favor of just another bloated, action-heavy shitfest that appears to be set in the "future". Again, fuck you Hollywood. Bastards, I hope everybody involved in the development of this abomination experiences a good fiery crash...

Paula Abdul will make a cameo in the new Sacha Baron Cohen movie Bruno. Cohen fooled Abdul into participating in an interview. "It is the most interesting, whacked-out situation that happened to me. I was scarred for life for a year," Abdul said.

Abdul was told by Cohen's people, pretending to be German awards show producers, that she was the recipient of Germany's "Artist of the Year" award. Abdul showed up at a house in the Hollywood Hills for an interview where she met Bruno. "I walk into the home and I'm greeted by this futuristic Captain Nemo?looking dude with a mohawk ? and he's flaming," Abdul said. "And I'm going, ?Oh, this is going to be one of those fun Japanese game shows.' I'm like, OK, this is weird."

Br?no snapped his fingers and summoned two Mexican gardeners, who proceeded to get down on all fours to serve as a chair for Abdul. "He says to me, ?Sit down.' And I said, ?I'm not doing that,' " Abdul told the DJs. "And I'm in a dress, so I'm tipping and holding my core muscles to not sit on them. And he pushes me down on them, and I'm like, ?I'm sorry.' And these two Mexican gardeners don't speak a word of English, and I'm like patting them and I'm like, ?I'm so sorry.' "

Abdul bailed after Br?no kicked one of the gardeners.

Bruno is out July 10th.

Just doesn't seem like the usual Star Trek's. It looks to me like it's trying to be a typical action movie instead of a Star Trek movie.

Yeah, definitely looks that way in the trailers.. I don't think it'll be a super-Trek movie, but the early reviews are saying that there's a good mix of characters and action, so that's a good sign.
