Columbus Crew SC (2008, 2020, 2023 MLS Champions)

Several comments were made on the live feed about the Crew playing mostly with reserves for the game, so that takes away a little disappointment, I guess. Meh. At least the US women won.

I know it was mostly reserves... there's some fixture congestion at the moment. Still though, the normal XI hasn't covered themselves in glory. They can score... the trio of Kamara, Higuain and Finlay has been as potent as you'll find in the league. The team just hasn't defended worth a shit, and they've given up plenty of laughable, garbage goals along the way.

I wish I was able to watch more matches (without adding more packages to the cable bill), so I'll take your word for it. I know the OCSC play by play guys are always complimentary of the offense, but they haven't mentioned the defense much at all that I've noticed.

That goal they gave up the other day was just too ridiculous to be mad about. I laughed every time I watched the replay.

Losing Hernan Grana (contract terminated due to homesickness.... Thought that only happened on FIFA career mode.) and having Parkhurst aging rapidly back there certainly isn't helping. The Crew could use a CB in the summer transfer window (opens today), and a RB. A striker for depth purposes couldn't hurt either.

Cedrick should be arriving in Columbus soon. He could very well catapult Columbus to the top as the most prolific attack in MLS.

Crew down 0-1 so far... At least tonight's goal wasn't down to a comedy of errors... Pogatetz was beaten by pace and it was a tremendous low far-post finish by Abang.

Now the Crew scores and it's level. A long clearance by Clark skips through a sleepy NY back line and to the feet of Finlay. May have got a light flick from Kamara there too. Nice to see Finlay score after choking on a couple easy chances.

Also, Sacha Kljestan looks like he moonlights as a bellhop in Wes Anderson movies.

Crew already out to a 1:0 lead after earning a penalty eight seconds after the opening kick.

Was out playing a game of footie myself tonight so a little upset I missed their 1 national TV game.

I did score a wondergoal from about 25 yards out. Still got it.
Said Golazo apparently got captured on shitty cell-phone video. From my high school's alumni game. Got a chance to go against the current team for 40 minutes then opened it up for our All-Alumni game. Fun times.
