If a firesale means getting rid of placeholders and getting some new blood in, I'm all for it.
That said, I hope, for Blue Jackets fans sake, they don't go at it like the Florida Marlins do.

It must be the 3rd period, because the Blue Jackets have scored twice to close the game from 3-0 to 3-2.....
Zherdev from Svitov and Brule from Fedorov (I think it hasn't been announced yet) and the goals came within 3 minutes of each other....

Again this team needs to play 60 minutes of hockey.
The 1st period was ok. Nothing spectacular, but the intensity was there.
The 2nd period cost the Blue Jackets the game.
In the 3rd period, the Blue Jackets played with intensity and skill and would have been able to play with anyone in the league.
The Blue Jackets need to put the puck in the goal. I think they've solved their long standing issue about not getting enough shots (mostly) but now they have to get quality shots. 35 foot blasts with no screens in front of the goalie get stopped 99% of the time. They were able to get 33 shots tonight.
Finally, I think the Blue Jackets need another scorer to show up. They went 0 for 4 on the Power Play (Montreal went 2 for 7). If they do trade a couple players, they should get someone with wheels that can score.

turned off this game with bout 90 seconds left, flipped back a few minutes later as the so ended. didnt get a good replay of the nash goal.
