Might as well move the team to Quebec.

Buttman doesn't want Columbus to survive, it's not a natural market and will always be 2nd fiddle to Ohio State.

He's not stupid, he knows the fans that still like hockey will navigate to Detroit or Pittsburgh if the CBJ leave.

As The Athletic’s Blue Jackets beat writer, Aaron Portzline, reported, Columbus hopes to have a new head coach hired very soon, perhaps by the end of the week. Pascal Vincent is an internal candidate who has interviewed, and I’m told the Jackets have also spoken with veteran free agents Peter Laviolette and Mike Babcock. If I had to guess, I think Laviolette is a decent possibility unless the Jackets decide to give Vincent a chance.

One point in Babcock's favor if the idiots at Deadspin hate it.

Seriously though - the guy DOES know hockey. And since the time in Toronto, he's successfully coached at the college level, and colleges won't put up with the nonsense either, at least not in this era of being sued.

It worked with Torts. It can work with Babcock too.
